After his attack on Kofi last night on Raw, you had to figure it was coming and WWE made it official today that Kofi defends against Joe at the Extreme Rules PPV. No special stipulation or gimmick is announced for the match, so I'm assuming that means that it's basically a no DQ match since it's "the one night a year WWE gets extreme." :eyeroll:
This could be a fun match if it gets the time it needs. Joe is absolutely great as this intense bully, I just hope they move away from the "you can't do it without New Day" stuff as it's just not gonna hold water since it'll be well over 3 months since Kofi won the title by the time ER comes around.
I won't be heartbroken if Joe wins, but I also like Kofi as a babyface champion. Joe could win, but I don't see Kofi dropping the title until SummerSlam at the very least.
