According to WONL and SI, The Undertaker is officially out of Wrestlemania 34.

Thank God. I truly hope he never goes near a ring again...not because I don't like him, but because I DO like him and he absolutely embarrassed himself last year. I don't want people's last images being that of someone so deteriorated. Had I known they did never use the streak to get someone over id have wished he walked away after the sseries with triple H.

Hmm...

This may be the smark in me but it seems all too convenient that this is coming to light now. It all makes sense too but why would Cena even mention Taker on Monday night if they had no interest in making the match actually happen? It might be a tease or it might have been an explanation but it seems ridiculous to me that WWE would tease us with the Taker match, out and out reference it, and then not do it. Throughout all of the talk, I had a feeling that it was all a work to get us off the trail and this latest rumours has only just begun to sway my opinion.

Call me a cynic Dave, but I think they had Cena mention Undertaker to get fans thinking that when Cena showed up on Smackdown, that Undertaker might show up to his old stomping grounds, saying something about how SD doesn't play by the same rules as Raw. Plus, you know how they kind of have Cena do the whole "I'm in on what the smarks want." thing from time to time.

I'm with Norcs on this. I like Undertaker too much to see him putting on piss poor performances. A few years back, when Rey had gotten all fat and started wearing a shirt and messing up his knee every other week, I was ready for him to hang it up because he wasn't the same guy I used to enjoy. Rey got better working a lighter schedule, getting into better shape, roiding up, and not being 50+ with shot hips. Taker isn't going to have that happen, bar him being an actual servant of the Dark and performing some ritualistic shit where he steals the youth of children....and I'd pay to see that.

Guess the two biggest Undertaker dream matches will never happen. Cena & Sting. Wasted opportunities through the years.

Never mind, he gave us huge moments throughout the years.

His last four Mania matches have been underwhelming, so yeah, he better stay out and not continue to leave us a bitter taste, if he can't go any more.

Good, now we won't have to witness the guy get hurt in the ring and escorted out by paramedics...but before they all walk under the tron, he'll raise his fist one more time?

All i can say is good.

He hasn't been up to snuff in yeats and hopefully this is true as no one wants to see him hurt himself. He's done enough for the fans, he doesn't need to get back in the ring.

Bill Lesnar said he might have done enough for the fans, but he does need to get back in the ring and face John Cena. Bill Lesnar said it's a dream match that needs to happen. The match will be worth it no doubt.

I hope this is true. The Undertaker match has been a waste of time for years. The last time the Undertaker match was at all interesting was when Lesnar broke the streak. Undertaker needs to be done for good and just show up when it is time for his HOF induction.

The Observer is now reporting that Taker is still in frame to be Cena's opponent and that the Mysterio stuff is a smokescreen...these boys flip flop more than that Ricochet/Ospray match Vader hates...

Normally I give Uncle Dave a pass on his false reports because he has a better record than most about correcting his mistakes or saying his report ended up false, but lately he has been off a lot. Maybe this is just him having people throw out everyone possible angle as a report so he technically right when it happens.

I'm also in the PLEASE LET IT BE OVER camp but at the same time, I'll believe it when Wrestlemania ends and Undertaker doesn't wrestle. You hear the stories about him being out but now he's almost for sure the Cena opponent? I don't want to see the match and I don't want to see Undertaker looking horrible out there. Let last year's moment be great and move on to something else. Let it be over and stop trotting him out there one more time when it should have been over a long time ago.

I also hope the same. But I do think that if it happens and it appears likely to me, John Cena shall have a better match with The Undertaker than the one latter had with Roman Reigns. If there's anyone good enough to have a good match with The Undertaker now, it's John Cena. Except AJ Styles, I guess. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen. But I feel that it will. Making the end of Wrestlemania pretty pointless.

I wonder if all of you writing off the Undertaker would have the same opinion if he had been positioned to wrestle guys that he could still have a great match with? While I understand historically why Taker/Cena happening at Mania before its no longer a possibility is a big deal and makes more sense than other possibilities, I agree that Cena is not the right opponent to allow Taker to go out and have a good match at this point; much the same way that Lesnar and Reigns were bad choices. Deliberately paced workers who need to rely on being able to pick up and slam around their opponent are not a good choice for Taker anymore. And don't even get me started on Shane.

I would say though, if the WWE had booked Taker into a WrestleMania program against a guy like Styles, Balor, or Rollins for example, I have no doubt that he could have a match on par with the CM Punk Mania bout, and possibly even the second HBK match(and something far better than that ridiculous cage match with Hunter) even at this point in his career.

I still want to see John Cena vs Undertaker just for the spectacle of seeing both of them in the ring together at WrestleMania. A match about 10 years overdue? Sure, but it's still one of if not the last huge match they have left and if Undertaker feels like he can go and wants to then fuck it. Outside of Samoa Joe returning at Fastlane and costing Cena the WWE Championship I don't see who else Cena would get put with. Not really buying the Mysterio thing either.
