It’s the week before the big Crossroads show and that means it’s time to build things up a bit. Next week’s main event will see Austin Aries defending the World Title against Johnny Impact in what could be an awesome match. Other than that though we’re likely in for more build towards Abyss vs. Kongo Kong, because that’s what we need to see. Let’s get to it.

Casually watching Impact Crossroads in the background. How many friggin titles does this promotion have? Coming up next the NWA Champion will put his X Division Championship on the line against the Impact/Medium Weight Champion who was just rewarded the Grand Championship via E Mail.

On a positive note. Josh Matthews isn't half as bad to listen to as he was when he was desperately trying to be a heel commentator. I'd say Matthews and this other guy are a not bad duo. They're calling the matches and not going into any stupid ass antics to advance their own agendas.

....is Laurel Van Ness supposed to be a drunken lush character?

It’s a big show tonight with Crossroads. The name doesn’t really mean anything but it’s a stacked card with Austin Aries defending the World Title against Johnny Impact as the main event. Last week’s show saw Sami Callihan crush Eddie Edwards’ face with a baseball bat so you can almost guarantee some fallout there. Let’s get to it.

I'm not 100% sure I'm going as it's WrestleCon (about a 5 hour event) in the morning, Rev Pro in the afternoon and then three hours between Rev Pro and Impact. That's a long, long day.

Didn't go to Impact vs. Lucha (today was a nightmare and going to a show with a three hour wait beforehand wasn't happening). I did however meet a bunch of Impact people at WrestleCon.

James Storm. Met him before at a TNA show. Upon hearing that, he apologized for making me sit through it, which was very similar to what Bully Ray said last year. I did mention that it was the best fan experience I'd ever had for the meet and greets alone and that made him smile.

Impact had its own table, which was completely hidden behind the line to meet Ric Flair. Later on I went over and met:

Matt Sydal. Got to pick up the X Title for a second, which is nowhere near as heavy as the World Title. I mentioned getting to see him take the RKO out of the air live (which you've likely seem) and he didn't remember where it was. It was in Lexington, which he said he should remember since he gets asked about it a lot.

Eli Drake. And we have a winner. Drake was nice, funny, charismatic etc. I asked if he'd call me a dummy and he said he might, but then he just looks at me asking him questions and thinks DUMMY! YEAH! After that he smiled and shook my hand. I mentioned he had been my favorite part of the show for a long time and that seemed to make him happy. Very nice guy.

Also met a bunch of the Knockouts, including Gail Kim (funny in person), So Cal Val (totally not done justice by the camera), Taya (very nice), Brooke (oh my), Allie (TINY in person, to the point where I wasn't sure who she was at first) and Rosemary (in the facepaint but acting normal otherwise. Looks MUCH better with her hair pulled back as you can tell she has a very pretty face) and basically wearing a blouse and underwear didn't hurt).

Odds are I missed someone but the TNA people were all very nice and welcoming.

Last week’s main event wasn’t the most interesting as it left us without many places to go in the World Title scene. Pentagon Jr. easily dispatched Eli Drake and likely only has a rematch with Austin Aries to go. Other than that, it’s hard to say where things are going to go around here. Let’s get to it.

We’re back to an old problem that this show has had many times before: not much is really standing out. Sure there’s some good stuff going on, but it’s not exactly sticking as something that leaves much of an impact. The big stories are still Austin Aries vs. Pentagon Jr. and Sami Callihan vs. Eddie Edwards, but they’re both starting to feel a bit long. Let’s get to it.

It’s a big night tonight with the Under Pressure special, headlined by Austin Aries challenging Pentagon Jr. for the Impact Wrestling World Title. Pentagon won the title last month at Redemption in a three way but Aries is getting his rematch in a singles match. Other than that, Allie is defending the Knockouts Title against Su Yung in a casket match. Let’s get to it.

Watched the latest episode. It's the second one I've watched since trying Impact again. I dug it. The Drake/Steiner match was meh. But what do you expect from a 55 year old Steiner. The Madison Rayne/Tessa Blanchard match was decent. Madison's fluke win kind of makes sense in a way. Brian Cage is huge and I could not think he would lose to Xavier. Still good though. I really liked the Su Yung/Allie match. I have no idea what happened to Rosemary (last time I saw her she was still in Decay) but this looks cool and interests me more than what WWE has been doing. I loved the Aries/Pentagon match. Pentagon is really really cool and I loved the ending. Them being pretty much even was awesome and Aries taking the easy route makes sense. Still makes Pentagon look badass while letting Aries win

So tonight is all about attempted murder. Over the last few weeks, Eddie Edwards has vowed revenge against Sami Callihan and tonight they’re meeting in an unsanctioned street fight. Since Eddie is a little nuts, he’s promised to, and I quote, murder Callihan in the woods. This could be fascinating so let’s get to it.

It’s another big night this week with a double main event. First up we have Moose vs. Eli Drake in a #1 contenders match with the winner getting a World Title shot against Austin Aries at Slammiversary. Other than that we have Brian Cage challenging X-Division Champion Matt Sydal, which sounds like a way for Impact to find a way out of giving Cage the title. Let’s get to it.

With about a month to go before Slammiversary, the card is starting to come together. We have Moose challenging Austin Aries for the World Title and likely a match between Tommy Dreamer and Eddie Edwards for the sake of getting Dreamer on a pay per view in 2018. Other than that we also know who the X attacker was, but we don’t know anything else about him. Let’s get to it.

We’re getting closer and closer to Slammiversary and the card is really starting to take shape. One of the matches though appears to be Eddie Edwards vs. Tommy Dreamer, which means more of Dreamer talking about stuff that happened twenty years ago and how much he loves wrestling. Things are still fresh off of Slammiversary but at the same time we don’t really have anything big going on yet. The main event scene took a surprising turn last week with Killer Kross revealing himself to be working for/with Austin Aries. I’m not sure what the point of that is when Kross has been one of the better villains for a few weeks now and really doesn’t need to be affiliated with Aries. We’re still in Mexico City and the big story coming out of last week saw the Lucha Bros become the new Tag Team Champions with about 184 piledrivers. The big question now is where things go from here, though tonight being the Uncaged special should help a lot. That means a stacked card, including the World Cup match (meaning a company vs. company tag) and a four way for the World Title. Let’s get to it.

We’re on to Las Vegas now after a pretty good run down in Mexico. The question now is where we go from here as the road to….is it the New York show or the April pay per view now? Either way the main event scene isn’t likely to be great, which has been the problem for far too long now. At least we can get the Tag Team Title stuff going again though, which has been great every time. Let’s get to it.

The Las Vegas swing continues as we continue to build towards Rebellion. The big story coming out of last week was LAX seemingly turning heel by attacking and unmasking the Lucha Bros, though LAX was provoked. Other than that it’s the same World Title scene we’ve had for months now as Brian Cage is chasing the title with Moose and Killer Kross running around too. Let’s get to it.

I’m not sure what to expect this week as we have the latest round in the main event four way feud, which hasn’t been great so far but last week offered a bit of a twist with Johnny Impact injuring his neck. Things are rolling along as usual around here, which means a lot of the same stories that kind of need to go somewhere already. That’s one of Impact’s biggest problems and it’s been the case for years: they don’t seem to know how wrap up stories so things just keep going on and on for months. Hopefully we get some advancement soon because the good things that they have are rapidly approaching their expiration date. Let’s get to it.

We’re about two weeks away from Rebellion and you can see most of the card from here. It’s the go home show for Rebellion and that means we’re in for what could be a good six man tag with the two major feuds coming together. It’s the first show after Bound For Glory but in this case it isn’t your traditional fallout show. Instead we have a kind of preview/get to know you show for the move to AXS TV. It makes a lot lot of sense to do something like this this here as there is going to be a new audience who isn’t familiar with your product. Couple that with coming off your biggest show of the year and a recap is in order. Let’s get to it.

This is the real debut on AXS TV and the in-ring fallout show from Bound For Glory, meaning things better be rocking tonight. The show should be a big deal with Brian Cage defending the World Title against Sami Callihan in a steel cage rematch from Bound For Glory. I’m not sure how this is going to go but they need to get this one right. Let’s get to it.

I don’t know how to say this but the company is on a roll. They had a good Bound For Glory and a rather strong debut on AXS, which seems to actually care about them. It’s the second week in Canada and we are getting ready for Hard To Kill in January. The build started over the last two weeks with Tessa Blanchard being named #1 contender to Sami Callihan’s Impact World Title. I’m not sure how interested I am in Tessa Blanchard vs. Sami Callihan again but the Tag Team Title match sounds good. We’re into the new norm around here and I’m not sure what that is going to mean. Things were on a great upswing until Slammiversary but last week’s show wasn’t quite as strong. I’m curious to see if that is going to continue, as they still have the right pieces in place to do some good things. Let’s get to it.

Things got turned around in a big way last week with the premiere of Wrestle House, which became the major focal point of the show. That may or may not be to your liking, but there were enough good moments that made me willing to try another show built around it. Other than that, we have the continuing adventured of Eddie Edwards as World Champion. Let’s get to it.

We are coming up on Emergence and that could make for some good stuff around here. It might be a little soon after Slammiversary but the question now is what will actually take place on the two weeks of specials. Throw in Wrestle House and we could be in for some good stuff. Let’s get to it.

It’s time for the next big special show and this one is going on for two weeks. The show is called Emergence, which seems like they came up with the name by looking at shows on network TV which has nothing to do with wrestling. This week’s big match is the Good Brothers vs. Ace Austin/Madman Fulton, which doesn’t seem to have the most drama. Let’s get to it.

It’s the second and final night of Emergence and that means we’re in for a big match. This time around it’s going to be a thirty minute Iron Man match for the Knockouts Title as Deonna Purrazzo defends against Jordynne Grace. The World Title is on the line as well, plus the usual Wrestle House shenanigans. Let’s get to it.

It’s a big show this week after the two weeks of big shows as the World Title is on the line again. This time it’s Eric Young challenging Eddie Edwards because this company sees something in Young as a major star. I’m not sure what that something is but I’ve yet to actually see it. Let’s get to it.

We’re just over a month away from Bound For Glory and I think you can see where the main event is going. Last week saw Eric Young vs. Tommy Dreamer because reasons, but Rich Swann made the save. I’m curious about some of the things around here though and if they can live up to the hype, they’ll be fine. Let’s get to it.

We’re still on the way to Bound For Glory and now we have a main event with Eric Young defending the World Title against Rich Swann. Other than that it seems that we are in for a lot more of the Good Brothers, which may or may not be your cup of whatever your beverage of choice is. Let’s get to it.

Just watched the November 24th episode of Impact.

Thought the Sea Stars team was called I See Stars and was thinking of the metalcore band. Apparently one of them is Spud's wife. Match with Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz was fine.

Was kind of disappointed that Jordynne Grace's partner is Jazz. Not because she's bad or anything but I was expecting someone new (long shot Thunder Rosa) or Gail Kim

I liked the wrestler's court skit. Although I was disappointed that it turned out Larry (Laurence) D was the shooter. Weirdly I was thinking it was going to be Taya because she was jealous because she wanted Rosemary all to herself

Rohit vs Suicide was ok. Although them showing it wasn't TJP kind of made sense. I assumed they were going to do Suicide was TJP so I guess the swerve made sense.

The Moose/Shamrock backstage segment was good. I am interested to see if Moose is going to win the Impact world title at some point (hopefully soon)

Kimber Lee vs Killer Kelly was fine. Killer Kelly is giving off some Shayna Baszler vibes (might just be the mouthguard and legit fight training). The Susie and Su Yung appearing at the same time at the end of the match was really cool. Not sure if it was really good editing or what but whoever is responsible deserves a raise.

MCMG saying they're going after XXXL, The North and Good Brothers makes sense. They're still my favourite tag team in Impact

The backstage segment between Willie Mack, Rich Swann and Chris Bey really highlights how much of a better talker Bey is compared to the other two. He really sells that he's got a plan.

I honestly don't know whether the Phenomenal One skit was really funny or really cringy. Swoggle dressing up as AJ Styles is kind of funny but also not. Him beating Ethan Page also feels eh. I know it was because Page was overconfident but it still feels a bit much.

Fallah Bahh vs Daivari started off well and jeez is Daivari jacked. Eric Young and Joe Doering stop the match and beat up everyone. Rhino comes down and gets beaten up as well. Got to say Eric Young has me intrigued as to what he'll do next

Backstage segment with Crazy Steve, TJP and Swoggle gets interrupted by Brian Myers. Comments about how everyone is a joke. Eh.

Deonna Purazzo and Kimber Lee ask James Mitchell for help in possibly turning Su Yung into Susie. He says there's a price. Yeah that's not going to bite them in the ass.

Rich Swann vs Ken Shamrock was pretty decent. The ref ejected Sami Callihan early on and it was a nice back and forth match. Rich is using rolling thunder and a frog splash a lot recently (might be a RVD tribute) Rich won with a roll up and then Shamrock beats up the ref and Sami comes down and beats up Swann. Eddie Edwards comes down and gets beat up, tied up in the corner and then hit with the baseball bat to end up bleeding everywhere. DLO Brown comes down to get beaten up by Shamrock with officials looking at Eddie. As much as I like Rich Swann he's giving off Chris Sabin world title vibes in that he's the least interesting thing in his feuds. I care more about what Sami and Shamrock are doing more than Swann. Maybe it'll pick up soon. Pretty decent episode I thought.
