Lots of love shown for Joker, the Irishman, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and 1917.

Scarlett Johansson is nominated in both the Best Acress and Best Supporting Actress category, which doesn't happen too often. I don't see her taking the Best Actress award, I'd say Renee Zellwegger is the favorite as Hollywood flat out loves any and all things Judy Garland.

Joaquin Phoenix has to be the favorite to take home Best Actor though DiCaprio is always a serious contender.

It's cool to see Tom Hanks get nominated for his portrayal of Fred Rogers. Al Pacino is back in the good graces of the Academy and all he had to do was to portray yet another gangster, which seems to be the only thing film critics seem to like him for.

Best Picture, Best Director, Original Screenplay and Adapted Screenplay are all wide open.

Al Pacino was fantastic in The Irishman, he deserves any award he gets. Stole the movie IMO.

Le Mans '66 is my favourite of the best picture nominees that I've seen. Says it all I think.

Endgame not being nominated for best picture is ridiculous. It wasn't winning but they usually do 10 films, and they did 9 this year. Yet the Irishman, which was not cinema, is nominated.

Also, this is the first time I've seen 4 of the best picture nominees. That's surprising for me.
