Howard Finkel passed away. One of the most iconic voices of my childhood.


This week really fucking sucks. Rest In Peace Fink.

Nobody did it better than Fink. By all accounts a very intelligent and nice guy also. Such a damn shame.

Fink did his part to make it a big moment as possible. You'll be hard pressed to imagine an iconic match from WWF's golden age without him.

Sometimes, things like this remind me just how much time has passed and how quickly it goes by. I turn 40 in about 6 weeks and Howard Finkel is just one of the more familiar voices I've remembered over the course of my life. For such a small man, Finkel could generate this loud, booming voice on the mic and it always made me think that it's how a ring announcer is supposed to sound. I always thought it was especially great to hear the "AND.....NEEEEEWWWWWW..." whenever a title changed hands. Just always kinda sent chills down my spine.
