Suddenly, all was right with the world. Kentucky doesn't have a lot to pick from when it comes to wrestlers. Really, I have Rob Conway, Hillbilly Jim and Eugene. This is about as good as it gets.

For the record, Conway is actually from Pennsylvania. He just spent so much time in OVW that everyone thinks he is from Louisville. There are some people who would like a word real quick.

This is one of those inductions that makes you shake your head, but you can't help but smile at it. There have been worse inductees than Jim, and he's a relatively well-known character, so considering WWE's standards, why not?

Hillbilly Jim doesn't exactly boast a lot in terms of accomplishments or ability and is one of these guys that some modern fans point to as proof of their claims that the HOF is a "joke" or something. When it comes to in-ring ability or championships, Hillbilly Jim is pretty much the bottom rung of the ladder.

When I think of Hillbilly Jim, I generally think of a guy who wasn't all that good, yet was extremely popular during the mid 80s and was defined entirely by being a loveable persona who made a lasting impression.

Honestly I thought Hillbilly Jim was already in the HOF. Like I would've bet my life on it. Good thing I didn't, I suppose.

Anywho, I never really make a fuss over who goes in. Hillbilly Jim was a great character. He was fun and kids loved him. I personally like Hillbilly Jim, he always made me chuckle or smile so I'm happy he is getting his time to shine here.

I remember the name Hillbilly Jim more often than I do quite a few others in the HoF so that's a point in his favor.

I still can't bring myself to really care about the HoF though. Eventually the guys who set up the ring are goinv to be inducted.

Yes indeed I am. I don't remember Ivory having a family of hillbillies and I don't remember Ivory having a lucky horseshoe. Those things alone make Jim deserving.
