The review embargo for Deadpool 2 lifted at 12 am this morning and the reviews have been hitting the net left and right. Overall they've been very positive. It has an over all 84% on Rotten Tomatoes right now which is 1% higher than the first film. As long as it's close in tone and humor to the first film I think it'll be a great movie. It looks like Infinity War's dominance at the box office will end this weekend.

I'm excited to see it. What about you guys?

Just got back from seeing it. It's too long and a lot of the jokes didn't hit for me.

Adequate.

I wasnâ??t a big fan of the first film and always got the impression things felt too forced. Iâ??ll probably go and see the second one but Iâ??ve not been excited about it in any way

I loved it. All the references and jokes worked for me. I've read quite a few Deadpool comic books and so had a good idea of what the character's like. Ryan Reynolds nailed it in both the movies. Josh Brolin was good too. In fact, I didn't find any character lacking.

I can, however, say that it's not for everyone.

Domino was really cool. Cable was pretty cool. Deadpool had his moments. The plot was kind of hackneyed, and a lot of the humor just wasn't landing for me. Also someone in my theater shouted, "NO!" in shocked horror when Vanessa got shot, like it was a surprise that was going to happen, and that really pissed me off. Then he preceded to read the comic opening credits line until a brave movie theater hero said something.

The random cameos were my favourite.

Domino was cool and the actress is hot.

Josh Brolin was good as the straight man to Ryan Reynolds comedy man. The story was good but some of the jokes were reaching a bit.

Probably as good as the first but for different reasons

Overall, I thought the movie was a lot of fun. I thought all the actors were really good in their roles, especially Reynolds as it just flat out seems like Deadpool is who he was born to play.

I don't know if the humor was quite up to par when compared to the first, but I thought there were plenty of laughs and the cameos added a nice cool factor to the movie.

I wasn't all that hot about certain aspects of the story, namely the whole time travel bit. There's been a lot of tinkering with the timeline/altering the future in the X-Movies as of late and it can really lead to things being unnecessarily convoluted.

To be perfectly honest, while I enjoyed Cable in the movie, I think that the Cable/Deadpool crossover would've worked even more had they already done a Cable movie and saved the crossover for a third Deadpool movie. I think it would've given more time to flesh out a few aspects.

Overall though, Deadpool 2 was a fun popcorn movie with the action and irreverent humor that made the first one such a blast. I just think they're trying to broaden the DP franchise too quickly. It's not on the level of Infinity War but it's still quite good for a Marvel movie that's not part of the MCU.

I give it a solid B.

I'd like to see Deadpool as a supporting character, a lot like Hulk. I liked the first movie, I just think he'd be a lot better in small doses.

Deadpool has taken the #1 spot at the box office away from Avengers: Infinity War. DP 2 has taken in a three day domestic haul currently estimated at $125 million and an international total of about $176.3 million for a world wide total of $301.3 million. With a production budget reported to be around $110 million, it's already off to a major start. I don't expect the numbers to be as strong for DP 2 as the overall consensus seems to be that it's a good movie, just not as good as the original. As of right now, DP 2 has the second highest opening weekend for an R rated movie, just behind the first Deadpool movie, which took in $132.4 million in February of 2016, and ultimately wound up taking a total of $783.1 million at the box office. I suspect DP 2 to do somewhere in the $700 to $750 million range as its only real competition for the next month will be Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Avengers: Infinity War, while no longer #1, is still bringing in a ton of business. The mega blockbuster added an estimated $28.7 million to its domestic coffers this weekend, giving it a massive haul of roughly $595 million domestically. With another $1.218 billion internationally, Infinity War is looks poised to be the biggest movie of the year with a worldwide total of $1.813 billion. This summer, the only other movie that I think will give it competition for being the #1 movie of the summer could be Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Really enjoyed Deadpool 2. Maybe even more than the first one but for totally different reasons. As some have said, some of the jokes didn't land but for as many that didn't land there were that many that did. It's better than I thought it'd be which is a good thing. No doubt Reynolds was born to be Deadpool and Cable was a great straight man for Deadpool to play off of. A lot of the other characters were great as well. Domino was awesome, still love the dynamic of Deadpool and the X-Men, and that bartender (name escapes me) was once again hilarious.

My only gripe would be that it had too much going on. It just felt like we didn't have enough time to flesh out a lot of the scenes and moments that Deadpool would find himself in. Although, I actually think that kinda works for this character, so I'm torn. Loved all the callbacks to the original though. Also, there were two different scenes in the film that had me laughing so hard I was crying. It really hit for me. Just as good, if not a little better than the original. What makes that the case is that this one had a lot more heart and emotion than the first one. Kinda don't like what they did with the ending, but for Deadpool, again, it kinda works.

Solid B+/A-.
