Let's get this over with. It has to be better than last night right?

Having serious struggles to get through either program lately. It's all 90% filler, and the remaining 10% is going to be covered in the hype videos at the pay per view.

I hope they take another look at Harper as a singles competitor in the next few years.

Don't know if Naomi heard but Asuka already snatched Lana bald at a house show.

I've seen maybe ten episodes ever. For your trivia though: my uncle, comedian Rich Hall, is the inspiration for Moe.

Aiden may have saved Naomi's life with that catch.

Just a match really but this is where Smackdown completely outshines Raw: they’ve put together this mini feud between Lana and Naomi to give them a reason to fight heading into the ladder match. Instead of just having them wrestle matches for the sake of wrestling matches, there’s something a little more personal and it makes things a mixture of a little more interesting and a lot easier to sit through. Now why can’t Raw get that?

Was AJ's attorney Malenko? Looked a lot like him.

klunderbunker

Yeah that was Malenko and the guy in the back was former NWA World Champion/ROH booker Adam Pearce.

Nay

For the last little while, SmackDown has felt more like it was before Jinder Mahal won the WWE Championship. The energy is there, the matches don't just seem to be matches that're primarily meant to fill up time, fresh talent is showcased more rather than just generally being fed to alpha males, etc.. Even right now, there's already more of a story being told with Charlotte vs. Becky than we've in probably half the matches on Raw for the last month.

This isn't meant to really be taking a shot at Roman Reigns, but has anyone else noticed that the spear when used by the women looks so much more impactful than when Reigns performs it?

Well the Iconics never hurt anything. But yeah that outfit was something else.

Spears are a tricky thing. Reigns is great at launching into people but the impact isn't great.

Nice little match for Charlotte and Becky. Nice to see Becky get a clean win over Charlotte, she needs it and it didn't hurt Charlotte. Now if only WWE wouldl just follow up with it in the coming weeks with some continued momentum for Becky, even if she doesn't win at MITB.

Now who wants to bet that Becky winning won't be mentioned as her getting up towards a title match?

TWO STORIES AT THE SAME TIME STOP THE MADNESS

Joe comes off so effortless on the mic and that's due, in part, to him not being saddled with a character or gimmick that just doesn't suit him. He comes off as a badass and a threat to anyone in the locker room. He's not being a smiling, cutesy sort of guy and that's exactly how it should be. Whereas with someone like Lashley, you have Vince doing what he's often tried doing with Roman Reigns for years: trying to force round peg into a square hole.

TWO STORIES AT THE SAME TIME STOP THE MADNESS

They did it earlier in the mixed tag. Over on Raw, that's unthinkable but here, it's common sense. It's no wonder why this show is that much easier to watch.

Reigns isn't a square peg in a round hole. Reigns is pounding on the wood where there is no hole, hoping that lightning will strike it and create the hole because WWE isn't smart enough to get a drill.

Because they want to start them with someone who fluently speaks their native language. Give them the best chance to start of successfully

New Day brought me back to this post. It's not top tier storytelling that Miz is angry that he doesn't know which member of New Day is in the match, but it's something.

Smackdown
Date: June 5, 2018
Location: American Bank Center, Corpus Christi, Texas
Commentators: Corey Graves, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton

Please just let it be better than last night’s show. With three TV shows between the two brands until Money in the Bank, it’s hard to say how much worse things could get. Last night’s Monday Night Raw was really not that well received but maybe the extra hour is what brought them down. It should be interesting to see how things go with just two hours and maybe less of a focus on the ladder matches. Let’s get to it.
