Look, I'm a fan of Foley's and everyone knows that IMO 'Taker can do no wrong. As far as this match goes, however, the only thing that makes it as good as it was was the outrageous bumps that Foley took. Both men wrestled injured in this match. 'Taker wrestled with a broken ankle and of course Foley finished the match with a dislocated shoulder, being half unconscious, and with a tooth through his lip. Those facts alone make the match amazing, but if none of that stuff happened, this would've been a horrible match. Especially compared to the master class HBK and 'Taker put on in the first HIAC.
Those things did happen though and because they did, this is probably the most remembered/rewatched wrestling moment of all times outside of Hogan slamming Andre. That's saying something.

I remember not being able to afford this pay-per-view and watching it on a scrambled channel. I'd get what would almost resemble the desired picture for 5-10 seconds at a time by switching the channel back and forth. The colours were off and the picture was a quite wavy, but for a few seconds I could at least see what was going on. At the end of one such moment of near-clarity, the signal began to destabilize as expected, and at that very moment, it had looked like Undertaker threw Foley right off of the cell.
"Ha, that'd be funny," I thought.
It wasn't funny.
