They have to be serious and actually mean it, of course.

I saw someone on Twitter say Vince should pull a Montreal Screwjob to get the title off Brock, since Brock is holding the title hostage.

Wish I could find the tweet, but one bozo thinks Trump shut down the government as a favour to Vince, as New Japan had to revise their New Beginning card when many of their talents could not obtain working visas.

"Plus I want to add that they are the reason why so many NXT call ups failed on the main roster. How can you booked somebody properly when fans are cheering everybody like they are babyface and megastars."

That one crowd is responsible for the new guys not doing well. Getting a reaction then, of all nights, is bad you see.

The admin of a page on Facebook called old school wrestling once posted the Armageddon 2003 event. He said it was better than any event WWE had put out in the last 10 years. He said that anything between 2003-2009 was far superior to anything from recent times.

I called him out on this and said thatâ??s a ridiculous statement. I reeled off some of the matches and cards to prove the shite that was been put out. He wouldnâ??t listen to any of it and started patronising me so I called him a cunt.

Iâ??m now banned of his page. I would like to add I was listening to the Royal Rumble 2004 on Something to Wrestle with Bruce Pritchard and he even said the event was shit. Apparently Goldberg was backstage smashing things over how bad the match was.

All the dirt sheets in 1998 would rattle of their pointless speculation just to keep their blogs and columns updated, and seemed compelled to throw in a statement that Val Venis would soon be joining Degeneration X. I remember this happening until Val joined RTC.

WhatCulture can't possibly put out a video without lacing it with ridiculous bullshit that any rational fan of the video's topic worth their salt could catch. I remember them putting out a video on the most insane WWE moments, and they claimed that when Mick Foley wrestled Vader (for WCW mind you) and did his head in the ropes spot, that Mick was choked by the ropes and passed out while still caught between them. I've read "Have a Nice Day". It wasn't enough that Mick's ear was ripped off and that blood was gushing, which caused Mick genuine horror. These dork-asses at WhatCulture thought that they should throw in some bullshit about Mick losing air and passing out.

Speaking of shitty YouTube list-porn: there's a lot of clusters of jack-offs trying to bait clicks for their WWE related videos, and one of them made the most fucking stupid claim I've ever heard as a wrestling fan. Their claim was that Stone Cold Steve Austin got his name from the mafia hitman "Iceman" Richard Kuklinski. The chodes that uploaded the video dealt with the insulting comments regarding that claim by lying and saying that Stone Cold admitted as much in a now missing shoot interview.

Want a good laugh, hop over to kayfabenews and read that ridiculous bullshit they throw up there. Right now they're running with a story that Robert Mueller's (unreleased) report regarding potential collusion between President Trump and Russia during the 2016 election stated that President Trump isn't fit to be a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. Now, I get it, kayfabenews is run by a group of man-childs (man-children?) that only post stupid shit like that because they get off on having random nobodies like me react to them in any way. Well, congratulations kayfabenews, you've proven to quite a few people that you literally have no purpose in this world and that nobody will ever take anything that you produce seriously.

Dave Meltzer has been catching flak for being high on Dana Brooke for the last four years, but seriously, if you google "dana brooke" you'll get dirt sheets from nearly every speculative nerd-tank claiming things like "Vince is very high on Dana Brooke".

Austin has said that he got the idea for a stone cold killer from Kuklinski several times. The name stone cold came from his wife telling him to drink his tea before it got "stone cold". The Kuklinski part is a little off, but far from completely out of left field.

... kayfabenews is complete satire though.

And that's where the internet is going these days. I might be an old man yelling at a cloud here, but there are a lot of websites out there that play the same game of "We're complete satire, but we really hope that some idiots believe our stupid shit". Believe it or not, their satirical nonsense is shared on social media as if it actually happened. At least other click-bait sites peddling nonsensical bullshit will state who authored the article, kayfabenews cites "staff" as the writer of their articles.

I'm on a rant here, but the whole idea is fucking stupid. It's like naming a newspaper "Fake News". You might be excited by the idea of one of their articles, but the word "kayfabe" means "fake" to anyone with half a brain. What they have in common with every other site overflowing with idiotic bullshit is that they hope, and will never admit hoping, that they'll make headlines for invoking War of the Worlds levels of mass hysteria. Even then those other sites usually have some kind of serious agenda, be it political or economic. Kayfabenews has the serious agenda of seeing just how stupid wrestling fans are, and -- as stupid as we can be -- we still don't hold a candle to the morons at kayfabenews who piss away their lives trying to come up with ways to satisfy that agenda.

They're most definitely a parody, though I'd argue that that's accidental as I feel that they're a parody of a group of people who make an effort toward an actual purpose.

You really don't think that they're trying to be subtle and work a few of their articles into the mainstream? Where most sites that deliberately post false content in a serious manner have an extensive disclaimer that states something to the effect of "This site is satire, all articles are fiction", kayfabenews simply says "Unreal news about an unreal sport". Unreal, conversationally, has taken on a meaning of "awe inspiring" and doesn't directly convey that all articles are intentionally false.

There is a magazine out there called Prowrestling Illustrated, and it provides coverage from a kayfabe perspective. If it speculates that anything would likely happen, it does so based on serious research. It doesn't mock professional wrestling in any way, and it most certainly doesn't mock its fans.

Kayfabe news isn't news and I would hardly even call it kayfabe. It's just random nonsense based off of nothing except for the fever dreams of its staff. Reading a kayfabenews article is like listening to an out-of-touch sixth grader fake his way through a description of something that he knows nothing about but hates with a passion. It's like listening to a comedian deliver a long and boring setup to a joke, only to realize that he forgot the punchline and can't improvise to save his life. The word kayfabe implies that they're sharing information that would seem plausible to someone who is willingly immersed in the world that is prowrestling, it has nothing to do with a failed attempt at humor by implying that a sexist writer posted an article marginalizing the Women's World Championship match.

Kayfabe isn't when a bunch of losers chug GameFuel until they start to sound interesting to each other, it's when you take seriously the notion that Becky Lynch hurt her leg or that Bret and Owen hated each other.

I remember back when DDP and Karl Malone were hyping up their eventual match against Hogan and Rodman.

WCW was being extra weird with the hype for this one, in that they had to try really hard to make Karl Malone into someone that pro-wrestling fans could get excited to see wrestle.

Mike Tenay was among a throng of fans and he went to a random 12 year old and asked him "Why do you think that DDP and Karl Malone are going to win?" and the kid responded "I think that they're going to win because they have such a strong work ethic."

THIS STATEMENT BLEW MY MOTHERFUCKING MIND!

The kid stared at the ground while he said it, and rattled the statement off in a robotic tone that indicated that it was rehearsed. Even so; I couldn't believe that I heard a WCW fan say something so profound, yet still so characteristically absurd.

There's a fan who didn't care for anything Shawn Michaels did after 2003 and thought his feud with Undertaker was just average.

^ Squared Circle right? That sub is beyond toxic. I was at -13 points for saying John Cena was a good worker.

SC is pretty lame, but SCJerk is even worse. Just a bunch of contrarians who defend every deplorable action of the WWE.

^SCJerk makes me laugh. Now, I did not say it was right, nor did I say it was wrong, all I said was it makes me laugh.

r/SC is soooo anti-WWE. Everything there is pro Meltzer, pro AEW and pro NJPW/AJPW. That's fine, everyone has a voice there I won't hold anyone back on what their preferences are when it comes to pro wrestling. I got down voted to hell because I preferred the Flair - Steamboat trilogy in '89 over the Okada - Omega matches in '17.

Basically LOL internet, you all suck.

Eugene could've won the world championship, and everyone would've loved it. 80 upvotes.

Otis is a better in-ring wrestler than Reigns, Owens, and Jey Uso. Sasha is one of the worst promos in WWE.

r/SC is a goldmine for this thread.

Adam Pearce should take the title off Roman Reigns.
