It was announced earlier today that Chris Hemsworth, best known for playing Marvel Comics" adaptation of Thor in the Avengers and his own MCU films, has signed on to portray Hulk Hogan in an upcoming biopic that looks like it'll be airing on Netflix as a deal with the streaming service is all but closed at this point. Directing the film will be Todd Phillips and it'll be written by Scott Silver while producers will include Hemsworth himself, Bradley Cooper and Hogan's old friend Eric Bischoff. Hogan himself will be a consultant on the project and will be an executive producer. It's in the early stages so it probably won't be released until sometime next year at the earliest.

The reports state that it'll basically be about Hogan's rise to being the biggest star in the business, so there probably won't be much, if any, content regarding his time in WCW and it most definitely won't include anything over the past few years like the sex tape scandal and recordings of Hogan using racial slurs during phone conversations. So yeah, the film'll kinda be a bit of a puff piece but an expensive one as I don't imagine Hemsworth signing on for less than $10 million at a minimum.

I'm looking forward to it. I don't expect it to challenge our perception of Hogan or anything - it'll probably be more flowery than The Founder, but it's still Thor pretending to be Hulk. I'd give that a shot.

Makes you wonder who they will cast as Mean Gene, Andre the Giant and possibly Macho Man Randy Savage.

Or Vince? Either of the Vince's for that matter.

Lost interest as soon as I heard Hogan was executive producer.

I'll only watch if it includes the War Bonnet.
