I?m with you. A lot of his stats are garbage time when he has to throw a lot. IMO, they could get way too much for an average QB by trading him and start the rebuild. Both their OL and D is aging. Pay him and keep yourself mediocre at best for 10 years.
I?m thinking we?re going to get another Kirk Cousins scenario where he walks free and someone pays too much for him. Dallas would be smart to sign and trade him while his value is still high.
Just now saw the extension. Congratulations Dallas. You?ve guaranteed mediocrity for another 4 years. Their best chance is that they?re in a shit division.
I just saw a post on the social medias from (I think) in the past 3 years Dallas extended Zeke, Amari Cooper, and Dak. Are they now Super Bowl Favorites....
I was confused because they have had all 3 for a number of years now and have never been Super Bowl Favorites. So why would they be favorites when they have to give all 3 big money contracts?
Good point.
Yeah. Besides signing a QB who?s just above average, much of the rest of their team is shit. And has been for years. But now, because they paid their QB, they?re now SB or bust. That?s how that works.
In 2022, Dak Prescott ($33.2M), Amari Cooper ($22M), and Ezekiel Elliot ($16.5M) will take up $72M in cap room, 39.4% of this year's $182.5M salary cap. The cap will increase as the NFL moves on from covid but not enough to justify their contracts.
Neither Dak nor Amari is elite. Zeke had 6 TDs and 6 fumbles last season. Since 2016, the Cowboys with Dak Prescott are 28-24. 16-2 vs the NFC East. 12-22 vs the rest of the NFL.
He's also never won a playoff game.

That's....something else.
