I'm dying.
Trying their damndest to get Roman over as a face.
Cena takes the piss out of it an hour later.
You kidding? He should start that chant during every match to bury everyone.
Well of course.
Funny how as much shit as he’s gotten, he can still get everyone behind him quite easily.
Well he’s not going to call him out like this and not have a payoff.
Undertaker needs to come out next week and say "I'm too old for this s***" and leave.
Cena is taunting a senior citizen that could barely work last year.
My dogs won't shut up so I'm missing this whole segment nasically.
You know what? Fuck the scepticism. I think this could be a classic in story-telling if done correctly.
God fucking damn It. I thought we were safe
You know, I could almost get behind this is 1) Cena wasn't playing a quasi heel but we all know is a face 2) Undertaker is literally 55 years old and hasn't had a good match in ages and 3) I kind of wanted Cena to have a stop watch and a notepad and do a live review of the show from the stands.
This is really what we're doing? Undertaker is a coward and has a big ego? Like......THIS IS THE BEST THING THEY HAVE? ANd what was the point in the last, oh, several weeks of "well, I can't fight Undertaker so I need to try everything else"? Oh yeah, Fastlane had to happen.
Wrestlemania Undertaker would need about 74 AA's to put away.
OH MY GOD HE JUST SHOT ON THE UNDERTAKER. IT’VE BEEN GREAT IF HE CALLED HIM MARK. REAL THINGS REAL THINGS REAL THINGS
They'd have to start the AA's right away, do the roll through and AA's for about 25 minutes.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pumped for this. Cena can deliver on the promo game, he can carry talent way worse than a Undertaker in his 50's, and this has so much potential to really remake Cena as a talent.
I'm really excited for this.
I literally tuned in tonight in hope to hear a gong. Fairly deflated now.
I'm so annoyed with these fucking "shoots" every week...Is this the best they can come up with Cena-Taker? Just having them showing up in the ring together would be better that this "shoot"
Lol. How is Undertaker the egoistic here? Cena and the fans are
Come on Sheamus and Cesaro, don't clue people in too much you're moving to Smackdown.
You can tell a show is going fairly well when they can have one match in an hour and fifteen minutes and it's not that much of a problem.
You guys are hilarious. You're getting the match, Taker is showing up. Who cares what the story is, the match will sell itself.
So I guess they can tease this every week to get fans to watch. Lightning strike here, gong tease there.
Tag team battle royal, here's hoping for Revival. Could also handle a surprise addition of War Machine or Authors of Pain to it though.
Unless a tag team from NXT shows up in that battle royal I couldn't care less.
Poor Elias.
John Cena, the face of the company, couldn't find an opponent for Wrestlemania even with the dozens in the back not having opponents either.
Undertaker has an ego because he's old and broken down.
Sometimes you just have to feel stupid watching this shit.
Seriously just forget Strowman exists. Save yourself.
Its not so much the promo. With Roman and Heyman's promos, I'm just tired of these "shoot" interviews. Also, why would "face" Cena call the Undertaker a washed old man? I get that the match will be a spectacle and the build will be great, but I'm not a fan of this premise for this dream match...
I'm not the only only who doesn't want to see 'Taker this year am I?
Taker can do his entrance at Mania then get on the mic and say "Did I leave my fucking hat, coat and boots here last year?"
Crowd laughs, match over. He gives Cena the finger to end the show.
I'm convinced Vince would carry Taker's corpse to the ring for a match if he could get away with it.
Cena is the greatest of his generation.
Undertaker is a constant through the modern generations, whether that be Hogan's era, Austin's era, or Cena's era.
And I think this is setting up a new edge to Cena at the very least. I think they're setting up Cena vs Reigns II at Summerslam with Lesnar's future in doubt. Regardless, I don't see Lesnar being a title holder in the future in all honesty.
So, Ronda gets to close the show tonight.. what else can they possibly do with that match? Doesn't really need any more built up
Well yeah, when you're 52 years old, and you've spent most of those years wrestling, I can't expect a technical classic from Taker. But I have enough faith in Cena to support a Taker that is at least trying to put over talent in the ring, which I don't think Taker would slack on.
I have to say, the Raw commentary team sounds so much better now. Coach is really the third-wheel that Corey and Cole need to get the best out of both men.
The whole Cena vs Undertaker doesn't make sense. So Cena calls Undertaker selfish and egotistical because he retired??? Wtf. Just because Cena doesn't have a match and wants to face someone he's using the fans and he's calling Taker names.
Undertaker should literally come out next week and destroy Cena on the mic.
Tuned in late... I personally loved the Cena promo and him "stirring up shit" to make it happen. I liked the personal dig because it gets a little emotion into it rather than the typical "we've only had one match. I respect you. I want a match to see who the better man is." It gives Taker a reason to show up other than "yes, let's have the match." I'm just happy we're getting it.
Exactly. I think it shows Cena's desperation also. In storyline, he's messed up chance after chance to get a road to Wrestlemania, and he needs to scavenge whatever he can. This is a perfect set-up on Cena's behalf.
As a massive fan of Taker, I understand that people are trying to look from his perspective also, but I think Taker would be happy to make another talent look good and for it to also matter in his swan song in the WWE. Say what you will about last Mania, but I don't think WWE achieved the desired effect last year.
It'll definitely be in Taker's Top 10 Mania matches without a doubt. It won't be better than the HBK ones. Maybe not even the Triple H ones. But certainly better than his first 6 or 7. Better than Wyatt. Better than Roman. Better than the 2-on-1 match he had. Better than the Mark Henry casket match. Right there you're basically already in the top 10.
My buddy who doesn't keep up with WWE asked me who the CAWs on the channel were.
Any chance of the Demon entrance at WM?
Oh hell not even a chance. Taker wouldn't need to make Cena look good though. I'd put my money on Taker winning that match and going out on top. Since he already lost the streak, going out by doing the job doesn't mean what it could have WITH the streak. Especially to another guy that's going to be part time. People want to see Taker go out on top. And honestly, Cena would want him to go out on top. They'd likely argue about who is going to take the fall insisting the other guy goes over. Even in a match that doesn't "mean" anything, it's a huge match and the win would mean more to Taker than Cena.
Women's equality? Didn't she pimp out other women wrestlers???
A Moolah Battle Royal now?
.....so are we still having a men's battle royal?
There's a possibility Taker could win, and I think that's what makes the match interesting enough. But I think the best possible scenario is an avenue that Cena could turn on Taker, and they could really push an angle that Cena is making one last push for the big-time in the WWE, before going on to do more movie-related work. We've not seen a Cena desperate to win by any means necessary since 2003, and that might be enough to really shake up the product, at least until Summerslam. I know it's WWE, and they mess things up pretty regularly, but I have enough faith in them that they can maintain Cena's image for a while.
Oh good, something for the other women to do. I love clusterfucks.
Meh I can get behind a women's battle royal. Still would like Sasha and Bayley getting a singles match against each other though.
A Moolah Battle Royal?
Count me in.
"Let's patronise women by making them do the exact same thing as men for no reason except the political zeitgeist."
Look, I know it's well-intentioned, but I can't help but feel it's manufactured as all sin. NXT know exactly how to build women wrestlers, and how to make history with their women without making it seem contrived. That Bayley vs Banks Iron Lady match was phenomenal.
Yeah that's just my two cents anyway. I personally see Taker winning. Just makes more sense at this point in time to see him go out on top than it would have say... 3-4 years ago.
I enjoy the Cena redemption story thing too. Give him a Universal Title win over Braun or Roman or something and let him run a good 5-6 months with it as a good send off into definite part-time land... even though he's sort of there already.
So I guess we forget that Asuka won the women's Royal Rumble?
I thought they were putting in a great deal of work between Bliss/Jax past few weeks.
You know, the underrated aspect of this match could be Angle vs HHH. Both men can still go, and both men have never fought each other at WM.
And of course, Rousey.
Please do not have Asuka talk. It’s so awkward.
I do hope they pull the trigger on Jax’s face turn. It’s been brewing forever.
I think Asuka and Charlotte will steal the show. It could be an instant classic, possibly the best main roster women's match ever.
The Raw match, if it's to probably be multi-woman, will probably need a cash-in to make it memorable, or at least, a title change. Sasha vs Bayley also has the ideal set-up in that match.
The graphics in Asuka's titantron look like an early Sega CD game.
I like the new sismance angle they're going for with Alexa and Mickie.
I was wondering if I'd get my weekly fix of Bliss tonight
Mickie has aged amazingly well.
Please stop Asuka
I'm sorry but can we not have Asuka on the mic anymore. Please? PLEASE???
Am I back in the 80s???
Not.....
