Paige responded to the joke in a tweet that suggested she wasn’t laughing nearly as hard as the members of the pro wrestling media that the joke landed with.

Paige raised eyebrows with a January 3 tweet that insisted her "glory days aren’t over." Part of the tweet made mention of the various times she has been called a “slut” on social media, an ugly perception that Triple H is doing no favors in quelling.

WWE broadcaster, and host of “WWE Backstage,” Renee Young joined Paige in the criticism of Triple H’s joke, noting “real change” needs to happen in WWE—a point of criticism that has plagued the worldwide leader for years. The Bella Twins echoed Young’s sentiments.

Triple H later issued an apology. He tweeted:

Paige should have tweeted a joke about his big nose or something.

Should Triple H have joked on such a subject about an employee on a public platform? No.

Am I going to waste energy feeling sorry for Paige, who often gets called out for saying tasteless things and demanding people on Twitter "lighten up, because it's just a joke"? Also no.

Every once in a while, that streak of immaturity that Triple H has displayed since the days when he was winning Slammy Awards for having the best hair in the company shows itself. It doesn't pop up all that often but once in a while, when he tries to be charming or witty, it sometimes sneaks in and causes him to put his foot in his mouth.

When I initially heard this, I thought Paige was upset because of an inability to have children. I can't swear to this but I want to say that I heard her say in a promo, maybe her retirement promo, or during a documentary that she had to have an operation that caused her to be unable to have kids? Or something to that effect? I'm almost positive she said something along those lines but I can't remember exactly what she said.

Paige could've returned with a joke along the lines of her doctors saying she needed to start taking hormones if she wants kids and asks Triple H if he has any boxes of hormones lying around the house with hormones, of course, being a not so thinly veiled steroid reference. It's obvious that Triple H takes something, which isn't surprising considering WWE's wellness policy doesn't test part time wrestlers. Trips possibly has the best defined physique in WWE right now despite the fact that he's 50 years old yet, somehow, I doubt Trips or Vince or Stephanie would find the joke all that amusing and Paige would catch all kinds of crap for it. As a result, my belief is if you don't start shit, won't be no shit.

The biggest issue I have with the "joke" aside from the obviously sophomoric nature of it, is how the hell would Paige have kids she didn't know of? Unless she had memory loss issues that makes her unable to remember 9 whole months of her life I find it hard to believe she'd not know of her own kids.

Triple H's DX character coming out there. That was an acceptable joke in the 90's before WWE realized women were more than bra n panty matches.

It was obviously just a bad joke but Triple H and the position within what he holds in WWE he shouldn't be saying things like that.

That was the joke. As others have said, a pretty lame joke.

To me that was the joke,not that she was a slag. She's female and females will know if they have a kid.
