I think the only difference is The Rock would barely acknowledge the WWE and the fans after he left. Completely dropping any association with who got him to where he was. Cena never lets people forget why he's where he is.

I think he gets the pass because he caught a ton of shit for what happened prior to coming back. He at least made yearly appearances every year after that for awhile. Granted most at Mania and probably for a big paycheck. But last year was the first year I don't remember him showing up (if he didn't... I honestly don't remember)
