After Slater's loss at Wrestlemania, he began a feud with former Nexus Stablemate Justin Gabriel. This would lead to an Extreme Rules match at Extreme Rules. Gabriel and Slater both bled hard in the match, but Slater went over with a Playmaker onto a Chair.

Throughout the next few weeks, Slater and Gabriel traded wins, before Over The Limit rolled around. Slater would go over in the blowoff to the feud.

Slater and Gabriel's grudge feud ended, and Slater mainly stayed to the Midcard. At Capitol Punishment, he won a Dark Match against Dolph Ziggler with a Roll-Up. And at MITB, he qualified for the Raw MITB, which he would replace Del Rio, who would face Skip Sheffield for the US Title. Slater would go on to Lose the MITB, but Evan Bourne won instead. Bourne would attempt to cash in against Punk after the Main Event, but Punk managed to knock Bourne out with a GTS. Slater would then come out and steal the MITB from Bourne, which would lead to a match at Summerslam. Slater would defeat Bourne to win the MITB.
At Night Of Champions, Briefcase v Briefcase insued as Bryan and Slater faced off against each other. Bryan would pull a victory out from under Slater, seemingly ending his night.
In the main event of Punk v HHH v Cena, Slater cashed in the MITB. He would cover Cena for the victory, stunning the world. Heath Slater was WWE Champion.
In the weeks coming up to HIAC, Ryder had formed an Alliance with Slater, and the two joined forces with John Cena. This would lead to 2 3v3 matches against CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, and Triple H. And in HIAC, it would be Slater, Cena, Punk, Del Rio, and HHH all in a HIAC Match. Slater would pin Del Rio after 34 minutes of action to retain.
In the weeks coming to HIAC, Ryder and Slater began to feud with Air Boom for the TT Titles, which lead to Slater having two matches at Vengence. HHH would take on Punk in a Loser Leaves WWE Match, which Punk won. Ryder and Slater beat Air Boom for the TT Titles, but he still had one more match to go. He would go 1 on 1 with John Cena in the Main Event. Slater would pull a win out from under Cena.
At Survivor Series, we were given Team Slater (Heath Slater, Zack Ryder, John Morrison, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, and Jinder Mahal) vs Team Punk (Wade Barrett, CM Punk, Ryback, Mason Ryan, Randy Orton, Sin Cara)
Team Punk would end up winning the match, with Punk last pinning Slater. This would set up for TLC. In the weeks leading up to TLC, Ryder suffered an injury, forcing Slater to 'Relinquish the TT Titles' Slater would instead grant the TT Titles to fellow 3MB Mates McIntyre and Mahal. At TLC, Punk would pin Slater to gain the WWE Title Again.
At the RR, Slater would fail to regain the WWE Championship, but entered the RR. He would make his way to the final 4, eliminating Randy Orton before Chris Jericho eliminated him.
At Elimination Chamber, Slater entered the World Heavyweight Championship EC. The competitors were
Daniel Bryan (c), Heath Slater, Randy Orton, Wade Barrett, Santino Marella, and Cody Rhodes.
Slater and Bryan kicked off the match, with Slater eliminating Marella and Rhodes. Bryan would eliminate Orton and Barrett eliminated Slater. Bryan would go on to pin Barrett to retain his title.
At Wrestlemania, Slater took on Santino Marella, Justin Gabriel, The Great Khali, and Ryback for Marella's US Championship. Slater would go on to lose the match after Marella pinned Khali. After the match when Slater was walking up the ramp, you could hear a Gong Hit. And then Silence
