Someone at ESPN thought this was a good idea.
"We know you're all kinda down with how the world is right now. We hope these fun facts about dead and druggie parents cheers you up."
Well, The foremost expert on Tee Higgins didn't have a problem with it so I don't.
However I do agree that they went overboard with discussing any and all tragedies that the draft picks suffered in their lives. I was almost expecting to hear about how one of them fell down a well as a child. I could have used less of that during the broadcast, but it was their perogative. I'm also willing to guess that the players and their families agreed to allow their tragedies to be mentioned. The only one that felt in-line with the day was the one kid whose relative died of COVID-19 (don't remember who off the top of my head).
Late to the conversation, but even back then I knew Miami made a mistake. Daunte Culpepper was a shaky QB. He had the occasional good year, but so has Ryan Fitzpatrick. I knew as soon as the Saints got Brees and Bush, they were going to be dangerous.
Florida State signed the #3 recruiting class in 2016, yet only one player was drafted. How can your development be that bad?
