Vince just couldn't help himself by not going for a bullshit ending. All he's done is reinforce the notion that WWE isn't about the fans, as evident by the "AEDUB" chants with the crowd vocalizing their displeasure. You could just feel Vince's fingerprints all over this match with all the over the top shenanigans going on with Rollins hitting a dozen superkicks and nearly that many stomps before all the other stuff. I mean..it's Hell in a fucking Cell after all, it's supposed to be vicious, it's supposed to be brutal and all that stuff. You don't stop the match because a guy's getting the shit kicked out of him. It's a situation where Vince wanted to protect both guys but really shouldn't have, Wyatt is and has been on a huge roll with the Fiend character, despite only having one match since his return, and this match could really have cemented him. Rollins has beaten Lesnar twice, once perfectly clean, and went over Braun Strowman perfectly clean so it's not as if losing would've hurt him.
The overall show was very good but the ending of the show definitely hurt things overall because this has cost Wyatt some momentum, there's no way around it. Rollins beat him down so badly in HIAC that the ref stopped the friggin' match. I swear, Vince just can't fucking help himself, he goes two steps forward and two steps back when it comes to building up guys that fans are absolutely rabid about and Wyatt is one of them. He just will not pull the damn trigger. It's a damn shame and it's creative choices like this that's led to AEW gaining more and more ground while NXT continues to just flat out be a better wrestling promotion.

Fantastic show.
Bad ending but great overall.
