Dark Phoenix was perfectly serviceable. It wasn't brilliant but it wasn't terrible. I'd say if it had come out in 2005 people would have loved it. I reckon because everyone knew it was the last 20th Century Fox one and Marvel have the rights back it was doomed from the start. I'd put it on par with X1 and X2.

Michael Fassbender was the best thing in the movie. And Sophie Turner better get better at acting or her career is going to drop off. Seems out of all the Stark children Richard Madden has the most potential

If it came out in 2006 it would be the worst X-Men film with a Dark Phoenix thread by some distance.

Not Kubrick's best - but up there.

Went to a Studio Ghibli all-nighter. It was six films and I tapped out after four. On the bright side, I saw Castle in the Sky for the first time and it's wonderful.

On the fourth children's dreamlike fairytale in a row, at four in the morning, I challenge you to stay awake - even with the A/C on full blast.

I felt like a winner for managing to get through three Ghibli movies a night, for a week straight. I would not have made it through a fourth one on any of those nights. Great movies, but overindulging kind of ruins them.

Well, Spider-Man: Far From Home was very very very good. I still think this phase of MCU movies should've ended on, oh Idk, Endgame! Still, the MCU continues to kill it and Holland is far and away the best combination of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man that we've ever had.

You didn't expect Marvel to make a second Spider-Man movie?

Feel like too much of the movie was in service to a reveal that was fun but most of the audience would have been actively waiting to happen. Tom Holland is cemented as the best Peter Parker. The post-credits scene already sold me a ticket to the third movie.

I thought Far From Home was pretty good, a good 3.5 star movie for me. I wasn't super thrilled with it, but it was a lot of fun overall. Spider-Man is one of these characters I'm a little burned out on because he's so massively overexposed. However, a good movie is a good movie and Tom Holland is quite convincing as Spider-Man. This is somewhat of a spoiler, though it doesn't really impact the film as a whole, I'm glad to see that J.K. Simmons is playing J. Jonah Jameson again, as he did in the Sam Rami Spider-Man trilogy, as I thought he was fantastic, just a role he was born to play.

Enjoyed it enough but that Phase should've ended with Endgame.
