Three is for average films, the not-that-great sequel to Deadpool gets two, I don't see the controversy. Mind you, I did give Suicide Squad three in a fit of "Not as bad as I thought it was going to be" euphoria.

Quiet Place falls apart as soon as you question how people in this universe fart or sneeze, but it does what's necessary to make the premise work, and I'm glad the script forewent a final draft by pedantic scientists with decibel-measuring devices.

Eh, suspending disbelief for bodily functions aside, you make new rules for a movie at least stick with it. The kid gets eaten in seconds over a toy, yet a waterfall is a safe place.

It's hypothetical but I assumed natural sounds like waterfalls and thunderstorms weren't going to make the creatures lose their shit. But I also watched the movie thinking when they made a noise, the creatures could attack, not that they were flat out going to and if they didn't then it's a plothole.

Also had great immersion going for it. Saw this in theaters and everybody was trying their best to eat their snacks silently.

Road House, by the way, is an absolutely ludicrous film and if anybody else finds themselves in the admittedly unique situation of attending a 35mm screening preceded by a Richard Ayoade book signing, I say go for it. We had some great banter:

"Hello."
"Hello. Could you make it out to Sam please?"
"Sure. There you go, Sam."
"Thanks."
"Thanks."

I think we're mates now.

I had the same conversation with Neville before Mania a while back. Except i didnt ask him to sign it Sam. Would have been odd.

I felt it was as an authentic Brittish conversation i will have unless i hop a plane.

Almost as many films come out this week than in the previous month. I was quite bored in June.

The X Force scene alone was better than Suicide Squad. If you made the Joker/Harley stuff a series of shorts removed from the film and judge it on the rest... i stand by my math.

Just because Suicide Squad doesn't deserve three stars, doesn't mean Deadpool 2 does. I'm the one that brought it up, guys.
