I've heard that. The idea of it being more detective than action has me intrigued though

A three star film by way of a one star film and a five star film was how I felt about The Batman. Sometimes thrilling and sometimes tedious. Maybe simultaneously too generous and harsh.

Turning Red is probably Pixar's out and out funniest film, for my money.

I'll be seeing Ambulance tonight, hopefully X tomorrow and Everything Everywhere All at Once when the UK settles its historic debt to A24.

Apparently I forgot to add Belle to my list after I saw it, which is just as well - it wasn't very good.

Look, something has to live on the other end of the scale and it might as well be the film so frenetically shot and cut that it made me physically ill.

Michael Bay got a drone for Christmas. I watched it over a bottle of wine and had a pretty good time.

Stone cold sober when I saw the Nan Movie and somehow enjoyed myself. To be fair, I did have my dog put down a few days before so I probably needed something undemanding. That said, how the fuck did that get two laughs out of me. Very disappointed in myself.

Sorry to hear about the dog but I'm glad the comedy stylings of Catherine Tate provided some solace.

The Northman could have been directed by Ridley Scott. And I mean that as a grievous insult. What happened to the guy who had Robert Pattinson fucking a mermaid?

X is the best Texas Chainsaw Massacre sequel, possibly ever?

April so far has given me three 5 star new releases. Surely a record.

Marvel let Sam Raimi put about 15% of Sam Raimi into Doctor Strange.

Cannes is as gaudy as you would expect.
