Recent post from Dustin Rhodes Facebook. Very disappointing to say the least. The world needs to open back up and end this mass hysteria. We are not a socialist nation. We are not a democracy! We are a republic. If we go on any longer with this bulls--t, our economy will be shot and that much harder to kick start. #EndTheShutdown
When it comes to reopening the government, I understand both sides and both sides have good points. For those who want the country to start up again, they mostly want it because they're eating through their savings, have eaten through their savings, getting by with the help of friends & neighbors and want to start earning money again. The other side is that the pandemic isn't under enough control, too many places still have infection & death rates going on and if they just rush ahead with this irresponsibly, it'll only make things worse in the long run and could result in yet another shutdown of the country and economy for even longer.
I read Rhodes' post yesterday and he also said something to the effect that he understood that some had lost loved ones but that it was time to move on, or something to that effect. I think I understand what he was trying to say, but the way he worded it and said it made it come off callous and made him look like a douche, at least in my eyes. I doubt he'd be quite as casual in such statements had he been the one who lost a parent, spouse or child.
