AEW features tag wrestlers but I still feel the majority of teams are just floating around. The weekly exhibition matches should be good though.
Generally speaking, the Revival had already gone as far as they were allowed to go in WWE. As good as the Usos and the New Day are, I'm pretty bored with them and feel WWE needs some fresher teams. Of course, the problem remains given that Vince has never really been a faction or tag team type of guys which, along with any number of other things, automatically puts some major limits of where WWE can go with certain aspects of their wrestling product.
The Revival will almost certainly go to AEW. They'll have great matches with the likes of the Bucks and the Lucha Bros., so be ready for Meltzer to assign an entire constellation worth of stars to their matches. The names of Cash Wheeler and Dax Hardwood are laughably bad, I mean Michael McGuillicutty bad. Cash Wheeler sounds like the name of a Saturday morning cartoon show character and Dax Hardwood sounds like a great name for going into porn or male stripping. Not the worst thing in wrestling to have a lousy name, unless you're in WWE, of course, where every little thing gets nitpicked and made into a major deal, but the names are still pretty stupid to me.
According to a report out earlier today, the Revival won't be the only talent let go, though it won't be the talent's choice this time as WWE is going to be making some cuts. Considering that WWE's revenue for this year will almost certainly wind up being significantly lower than it's been in many years, Vince can't justify keeping half the friggin' pro wrestlers in the world on the payroll if they're not being used. As shitty as it is for someone to lose their job, this is something WWE has needed to do for a long time. Of course, there's a major downside to it as the market for pro wrestlers outside of WWE is pretty much bone dry right now. As a result, WWE can let go loads of talent and not really have to worry about them being snatched up by anybody. AEW is shut down, ROH, the NWA, pretty much everything from Japan and Mexico, the UK, etc. and that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon.
