Let's get to it.
Let's get to it.
I love Roman Reigns. He has been amazing since he came back (and he was good before just not appreciated).
But FUCK Roman Reigns how dare you disrespect Kayla Braxton like that.
Good show last night overall. To me, the low point was Bayley vs Natalya as I just can't buy into Nattie as any sort of real threat. She's been around for too long and has spent most of that time elevating other wrestlers. Bayley has beaten her so many times that Nattie winning just didn't feel right.
Murphy vs. Corbin was okay, though I knew Corbin would win even before the bell rang as I just felt that WWE was using it's worn out formula of 50/50 booking in order to force a rubber match. I'm also not wild about the Mysterio family hanging out at ringside as it just feels awkward. The whole thing feels awkward and really forced; after all, no matter what, I don't think I could forgive a guy who helped in almost "putting out my eye." And if I found out he was forging a relationship with my 19 year old daughter, I'd be more likely to introduce him to the business end of a .357 Magnum than embrace him.
The Pat Patterson tribute match was fun, kinda nice seeing a bunch of former IC champs, along with the current champ, in a six man tag. Bryan getting the win makes me wonder if he'll wind up winning the IC title before he challenges Roman Reigns, reportedly for the Royal Rumble PPV. I could see them holding off on Bryan vs. Zayn with things continuing to mount between them and for Zayn to interfere in Reigns vs. Bryan next month and cost Bryan the match. Of course, that'd mean a little longer term storytelling and build up for Bryan vs. Zayn and that's not really something WWE does much of anymore.
Reigns continues to be a magnificent bastard and almost comes off now as a serial abuser who abuses Jey verbally, emotionally and physically. The implication throughout all this is that Reigns' new persona could be treating the rest of his family in a similar manner. It makes him much easier to dislike. Keep this up as it's the best thing WWE has produced in quite a while.
