Striker could be more than a little obnoxious at times but I'll give him credit for trying to get people invested, which is more than I can say for Todd Grisham, who should have stayed as a backstage interviewer and not a commentator.

He's doing MMA and Boxing commentary now. Striker is way to obnoxious for me. I give them the benefit of the doubt since they were both very early in their WWE careers. Striker had been doing commentary for less than 6 months, and Grisham had been there a few years, but never really excelled in WWE play by play.

I just laughed because Striker sounded like he didn't care, and now he's the exact opposite.

They have a few too many WWE guys, but you have to look at how they're being used.

Sting is mostly putting over Darby. Big Show is a commentator for a Youtube show. Matt Hardy and Dustin Rhodes haven't won anything significant. Miro is in a mid card tag team with Kip Sabian. Jake Hager is the muscle for a faction and rarely wrestles.

But they?re building him in a way he will break out of that. They?ve done a good job so far. They?re building him akin to how WWE has built Bobby Lashley, which is easily the best build in wrestling in the last year. If they keep this up, he?s got the AEW title in his future. And not as an ex-WWE star. As a properly built AEW wrestler.

You might be getting Grisham and Striker confused, Grisham's the one who says "It...It's Christian" in the infamous moment and Striker tries to hype it up.

Oh I'm not. Striker was about 1/100th his usual striker on it. Grisham sounded like he was unenthused, but Striker was so subdued for him that it was as if he didn't care either.

And to be fair, Christian at the time was nothing but a midcard guy in WWE that left for 3+ years and was a big fish in a miniscule pond in TNA.
