As far as the match goes, it's predictable but should be worth watching. That's about all I can really say.
There appears to be a backlash online concerning. There's a petition going around to get WWE to change the name of it and another one to cancel the match altogether.
As has been mentioned, there've been stories circulating for decades that Moolah essentially pimped out female wrestlers both during and after the territory days. It's not just one or two people who've made such accusations as people like Luna Vachon, Wendi Richter, Leilani Kai and others have told similar stories over the years in various shoot interviews.
As far as I know, Moolah denied a lot of these claims in life so it's ultimately just she said-she said at this point.
Like just about every top star in the business, Moolah screwed over a lot of people as a means of getting a head and/or keeping her spot. As a result, she had no shortage of enemies and that's usually how the story goes when you're a top star.
I dunno if any of it's true or not, probably some of it is, some isn't, some of it's also probably exaggerated. Stories like this seem to just about always come out whenever WWE does something like this, or honors someone that has a checkered past. The whole thing with the Ultimate Warrior, for instance, is a good example as Warrior is someone that's been celebrated over the past several years since his death despite the fact that he's made statements in the past, statements he stood by, that were blatantly homophobic and/or racist.
This'll probably die down in a day or two.

The thing is that WWE is treating Moolah like some great inspiration. So, if she's one, then the allegations negate that fact. That's assuming that the allegations have some truth in them.
You can't make someone look inspirational when so many allegations lie in his/her real life.
Except it is not. it is "she said - they know" and the "they" is pretty numerous.
It was basically an open secret that WWE is trying to ignore, but such wilful ignorance is dangerous at this time of year when WWE makes its annual attempt to briefly join the mainstream with Wrestlemania. Not to mention the current climate surrounding female inequality.

And that my friends is a shoot.
Post match Wendi keeps going because that wasnâ??t the planned finish and rips the mask off to reveal Moolah. Hereâ??s what happened: Richter was having contract issues (details of which vary based on who is telling the story. Richter says money, Vince/WWF says her contract was up) and Vince decided to get the title off her. Spider Lady was supposed to be some random chick but instead it was Moolah, a legit tough chick. After this, Richter quit on the spot and left the arena in her gear. She never appeared again and allegedly never spoke to Moolah or Vince again. This is known as the Original Screwjob.

The reason the personal issues of Moolah outside play a role in this whole battle royal in her memory is because what she did out the ring also affected the business. If this whole "pimping out" the girls to promoters and superstars were to be true then we should take into account that if one of them said no to sleeping around then they would get punish into quite possibly losing their jobs/career.
Now one could also say that she didn't do it because she build a legacy and others got jealous and Moolah denied the accusations. Of course Moolah would deny all the accusations that play dirty to her name as she didn't want to be known as the "bad person". However having these many women coming out and saying this of Moolah has to mean that there might be some truth to it.

Thematically, it makes roughly one hundred times more sense to name a battle royal after the first woman to compete in a Royal Rumble match. You know, the one who was in porn, which is somehow worse than being a literal pimp.
I don't think you could call something the Chyna Memorial Battle Royal.
