So uh, this past week has been a weird one for the blue brand. It looked like AJ Styles was possibly out of the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania. He's fine. It looked like Daniel Bryan was never going to medically cleared to compete in WWE again. He's back (albeit the recipient of a gnarly Pop-Up Powerbomb). It looked like Shane McMahon was going to have his climactic showdown with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania (alongside Bryan). He's out with a very real case of diverticulitis and a hernia.

So where next for SmackDown? In all likelihood a return to underwhelming build-ups toward what appears to be an oddly formulaic though potentially grand WrestleMania. Stay tuned for a replacement partner, more 'Knee to the Face' promises, more battling monarchs, more bludgeoning and more slow...plodding...triple...threat...antics.
