Terry Funk really is the Swiss Army knife of wrestlers, he's done almost everything, been everywhere, and he's generally good at everything he does in the wrestling industry. You could call him a jack of all trades.

Now, Funk is most certainly not a master of none, but the issues with his levels of diversity in the business is that he's spread himself somewhat thin in a sense. By that I mean, he never focused on becoming a top guy, or a domineering force. And he's up against the man who damn well tried his hardest to accomplish that, even if Triple H's results weren't quite on the level of some of the all-time greats.

Both men have a plethora of accomplishments to their name, and wins against big names, but Triple H's career was more focused on accomplishing the things that really do cement an all-time great. You could make the argument that Triple H tried too hard to be an all-time great, and this hurt not only him but the wrestlers around him, but Triple H is exceptionally talented in his own right, as a talker and as a peformer, and his accomplishments in the business is undeniable. He could not only have great matches, but he could win the big ones too on a far more consistent basis than Funk.

Funk has had a lengthy career and has achieved far more than the vast majority of us have ever seen from him, having had two careers really. But at his peak, Funk was never really the undisputed biggest name in wrestling, nor was he ever really the best, and this was a time when wrestling was in a trough. Triple H was the undisputed biggest thing in wrestling for a good few years and in the late attitude era he was arguably the best wrestler in the world at an incredibly popular time for wrestling. There's an argument for Funk, absolutely, but whilst he has longevity in his pocket, Triple H has longevity at the top of the business. Triple H wins this I think.
