Not saying Creative cares much about history outside the company, but when AJ kneeled before Shinsuke in NJPW, Shinsuke kneeled down and fistbumped AJ. When Shinsuke kneeled before Shinsuke in WWE, AJ celebrated on his feet above Shinsuke. I like to think that's why he turned heel.
