So, why didn't Ryder win the U.S. title in MSG at Survivor Series '11?

My guess is WWE didn't think it was that big of a deal and wanted to stretch it out longer, which wasn't the best move.

I don't think so but I do believe I've done the title change on a Coliseum Video.

I recall concern that Angle was badly hurt going into WM 19 and there was concern for him being good to face Brock. Had Angle been pulled from the match, who would have replaced him? My gut says Benoit - as he was somewhat entwined with the two at the time- but got anything spicier?

It was Benoit and he was the only option they would have considered.

I've never heard that they can't. My guess is it's more WWE revisionist history.
