Yeah the whole conspiracy theory thing has popped up on my Facebook at least five times since the game ended. My favorite was "The NFL had to fix the game because no one would show up to an Atlanta based SuperBowl in New Orleans played in it."

Which is absurd, because most agreed before the game there was nothing the NFL wanted more than Brees vs. Brady.

It is an offense dominated league now and the team that got to call the coin toss got to pick to go on offense first and never had to leave the field.
The home/away thing doesnâ??t change the coin flip at all.

Because New Orleans failed, Kansas City shouldn't have a chance? Maybe Mahomes would've scored. Maybe he wouldn't. We'll never know because he lost a coin toss.

And I wanted the Patriots to win. I said that in another post.

The NFL doesn't care about player safety. If they did they would eliminate Thursday Night Football and kickoffs, add another bye week, increase roster limits, etc.
Again, no one wants a 6 hour game. Your plan is stupid.

Sure it does, because no one gets to call the coin. It is just flipped.

I guess, from a certain perspective, you could say it does, but odds are odds and however they go about it, it’s still 50/50. People who moan and bitch about the game being decided by a coin flip wouldn’t stop complaining if it were done the way you suggest. Of course, people like that complain about anything, so what the hell. It’s not a terrible idea anyway. It would remove the manners and fair play aspect of letting the away team call it, but I doubt anyone would care. Not like the refs are playing for the home team. Unless they’re in Foxboro, right?

Yes and no. The odds the coin will land on one side or another is 50/50 (presumably) but at the end of the day people are flipping the coin and people are calling it. Does it make a statistical difference? I have never seen anything which says yes, but it is still the perception of it though. A home/away coin removes that doubt, removes the perception.

It's not my only recommendation, just part of it.

I just didn't care about the game. Haven't watched any of it so far. Cleaned my apartment though, and found $20.00 bill.

Brady and the Patriots win. Again. I'm typically a fan of dynasties, but goodness this is beyond stale.
