I would buy physical copies of games if I had a current gen console. But I have a PS3 and a PC, so the only games I buy are used PS3 games or downloaded games. I prefer physical copies of games, but I think those are not long for this world.

Buying brand new games off the ps4 store is way more expensive and the price takes an eternity to drop, you can get some good sales every now and then but fuck paying $30 extra when its cheaper for game developers to not have to print and ship anything. Thats just my experience in australia dont know how that compares to the u.s store

I generally catch a lot of good deals on the playstation store, November especially I think I got Overwatch for 10 dollars and a couple of others. I switched to just hard copies last year when that patch came out that supports external hard drives (I think it was last year, either way never tried it until then).

I guess for me I'm either happy to wait for the price drop on the PS store or I figure I'll pay full price anyway. Either way, I'm more than happy to pay a little extra for the covinience of not having to change the disk every time I want to play a different game and not have to give any money to GameStop.

When the SNES CLassic came out last year, the pre-orders were literally sold out online in ten seconds. I was annoyed but then had an idea. I went to Game Stop (less than ten minutes away) at about 1:30 in the afternoon. I easily got a pre-order because I was the second person to come into the store and ask about one all day.

I was disappointed when I missed the boat on the NES and SNES classic, but I could live. However, should they launch an N64 mini I'm going to get violent.

I didn't bother...I can use an emulator and get the same thing on my PC.

Do you play on Steam? (Apologies if that didn't sound right)

Emulators aren't officially released on Steam unless you count things like Megadrive Classics and stuff, and even then, you can just emulate those games on Kega Fusion.

You can run them through Steam as non-Steam games to say "Hey, I'm playing my Megadrive Emulator" but other than that, they aren't official Steam releases.
