    TNA iMpact

    Opener: Promo
    Crowd Reaction: Lifted
Jarrett was in the ring with the cold opening. He was plain sick of rumors that he's afraid of Goldberg. In fact, he has asked him to come out and face him. Goldberg's music hit, and ...it's a little person impersonating him. Jeff took his time sizing the faux adversary and got face-to-face with him by getting on his knees. He told him directly that he's bigger than Goldberg. Regardless of what the fans think, the wrestling icon isn't facing him at Final Resolution. To make sure he doesn't even interfere, he has made his match with AJ Styles, "another midget", a Six Sides Of Steel Match. Only way to win is to be the first to escape. Jarrett continues taunting the mini-Berg when AJ Styles slid in and floored him. Security was quick to act, pulling the young star off of the owner of TNA.
    C

    Triple X vs. BG James & ???
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
BG James was back again with a mystery tag team partner aaand it's Kip James! The former Billy Gunn was in rare form, pinning Elix Skipper after The Fame-Asser. The New Age Outlaws are now in TNA as The James Gang!
    D

    Segment: Backstage Promo
Scott Hall was having a beer inches away from the soundboard, bringing up how the vacated TNA Legends Championship was up for grabs tonight and he planned to make that name mean something. Curt Hennig had always been the supporting cast wherever he went, whereas Scott Hall was important in bringing about the biggest moments in pro wrestling. He doesn't hold a candle to him, so after he finishes his drink, he's going to gear up and knock him on his less than perfect ass.
    C-

    James Storm vs. Raven
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
Raven defeated Storm in 8:21 by pinfall, illegally using the ropes for leverage.
    D+

    Segment: Catfight
    Crowd Reaction: Lifted
Amy Dumas was talking to Mickie James but Cheerleader Melissa charged in and it's a catfiiiight! Shirts are freely ripped open. Oils somehow found themselves on their skin. Cameramen tripped over themselves getting the shots. OOooeee. TNA.
    C+

    Ultimo Dragon vs. Juventud Guerrera
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
The debuting Ultimo Dragon drew with Juventud Guerrera in 8:37 following a Double Count Out.
    D

    Segment: Interview
Todd Pettengill interviewed Percy Pringle about AJ Styles. Pringle reminded him that Jarrett didn't beat Styles honorably. That no matter what weird groups Jeff finds himself in, or what enemies he makes along the way, he can't defeat the future for long. Pringle sincerely thinks Styles will be the biggest star in TNA one day. Only a matter of time. Maybe it will happen inside the cage.
    D+

    Segment: Backstage
    Crowd Reaction: Lifted
Goldberg has arrived! He walked down the hallway...but Konnan attacked him with a bat. Konnan shouts about how he knows it was Goldberg who attacked him. Raven is there coaxing Konnan to strike him in the head. Goldberg pried the bat from K-Dogg's hands and threw it at Raven, hitting him. The Cause ran away with Goldberg still rocked from being jumped.
    C

Main Event: Scott Hall vs. Curt Hennig for the TNA Legends Championship
    Crowd Reaction: Great
    In-Ring Action: Decent
Curt Hennig defeated Scott Hall via disqualification when Hall struck him with the belt in front of the referee in 9:46.
    E+

    Notes:
    • Velvet Sky seemed off her game tonight.
    • Jeff Jarrett clearly enjoyed having the freedom to go off-script and performed well.
    • The performance of Styles was good.
    • Kip James debuted his Blue Collar gimmick. It got an A.
    • Amy Dumas debuted her Thrill Seeker gimmick. It got an A.
    • Amy Dumas came across well.
    • Ultimo Dragon debuted his Rebel gimmick. It got a B+.
    • Percy Pringle did a masterful job improvising interactions from the crowd.
    • Percy Pringle has a dreadfully stale character, a change is needed.
    • Todd Pettengill was very poor improvising dialogue.
    • The performance of Goldberg was good.
    • Konnan did poorly in his segment.
    • Scott Hall was visibly tiring toward the end.

    TNA Final Solution 2004 Hype

    PPV Theme: "Megalomaniac" by Incubus

AJ Styles vs. Jeff Jarrett (c) in a Six Sides Of Steel Cage Match

Curt Hennig vs. Scott Hall for the vacated TNA Legends Championship

    Goldberg vs. Konnan

AJ Styles was robbed of the TNA World Championship in his first defense as well as the opportunity to carry the TNA Legends title. Now he gets his rematch against The Owner of TNA Jeff Jarrett who last episode decided to make it a Steel Cage Match to deter the looming presence of Goldberg from interfering. Is Jarrett playing the smart game, or has he unknowingly trapped himself in a literal box with The Phenomenal Styles?

Speaking of, the biggest acquisition in TNA history is set to battle Konnan in his debut match. K-Dogg first thought it was Hennig that jumped him a month ago, but now he has reason to believe it was Goldberg. Will he finally know the truth behind his assault? Is Goldberg suffering from ring rust after being gone for the past couple of years? A match-up with more intrigue than The Da Vinci Code, a book that came out the previous year. I can feel myself aging.

Ron Killings had quite the year in 2003 - starring in a well-received B movie, winning the first Lord of the Lockdown event, and has recently become the X Division Champion. Previous champ Juvy isn't ready to call it quits against The Suntan Superman just yet though, and with the mysterious Ultimo Dragon ready to make waves, this Triple Threat could be the sleeper hit of the month.

Rumors of a Knockouts Championship are in full swing, and Cheerleader Melissa is the first to stake her claim - beating out notable contenders like Mickie James and Little Nattie in her wake. But the fair-weathered Rena Mero isn't quite ready to hand over the gold to her, instead signing on one of the greatest wrestling acts in the history of the women's division...Amy Dumas! They've sunk claw into one another, even tearing a few clothes along the way, and now the question will be answered: Is the bratty Cheerleader Melissa, former valet of The Badstreet Boyz, ready to be the Queen B?

In one corner, the locker room leader who has done right by the company despite being treated unfairly on multiple occasions. In the other, a rebel known for being hard to work with getting a title opportunity the moment he steps into Total Nonstop Action. Curt Hennig fights to regain the title that meant nothing to The Owner as Scott Hall fights to own the moniker of Legend. A true clash of industry titans.

America's Most Wanted have had their share of Badstreet for the bulk of last year, trading wins and the titles in a heated rivalry for team supremacy. But now the four must contend with the most beloved tag team of the past decade...BG James and Kip are back together as the newly dubbed "James Gang". Do they still have enough left in the tank to beat out the young and hungry wolves of the division?

All this and much, much, more!

I love your PPV hype posts. It actually makes me excited.

Also it was sad that Hall can't even go ten minutes. Slap them F's in the chat for Razor.

    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
Cheerleader Melissa defeated Amy Dumas in 7:08 by pinfall after working on Dumas's neck, exploiting an old injury.
    D+

    Segment: Interview w/Manager
Todd Pettengill stood by with Father James Mitchell and Abyss. Mitchell doesn't think there's a man in the company who could face his monster in a match with no rules. They will be in the ring later to see who is willing to bleed tonight.
    D+

    Segment: Confrontation
Backstage, Konnan cornered Goldberg. He told the new talent that he isn't scared of him like some in The Cause are. Tonight he will rectify the offense done to him. Goldberg told him point blank that he wouldn't jump anyone - least of all with a bat. Just look at him. He's not the type. K-Dogg isn't phased, and said he's going to beat Goldberg and do it for "his people". Goldberg replied he can try. Neither come to blows.
    C

Abyss vs. ??? - Hardcore Match
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Good
And that person to face the monster is Raven. Raven defeated Abyss in 8:39 by pinfall after a second Raven Effect. Abyss kicked out of the first, being the only man in TNA to have done so thus far. This match featured a table (Raven fell through), rubber band-wrapped fluorescent light tubes (used on Abyss), a steel chair (used on Abyss), and a coffee mug Mike Tenay was drinking from (used on Raven).
    C-

    Segment: Promo
Jeff Jarrett sat in a skybox with a mic in his hand. He reminded the crowd that Styles is a young up and comer, and has plenty of promise, but he's just a flavor of the month right now while Jarrett is the foundation on which TNA stands. He droned on about the cage not being there because he's scared of Goldberg, but to prove the naysayers wrong that he needs help beating AJ. Jarrett is still that chosen one from years passed, and it's high time the crowd respected everything he's done for them. He went out of his way to bring real talent to TNA like Goldberg, and he'll be damned if he isn't thanked for it. Jarrett threw the mic down and it landed square in the ring with a heavy, ear-shattering feedback thud. He clutched the TNA World Championship and told cameramen to get out of his face.
    C+

    Segment: Video Package
Ultimo Dragon featured in a three minute package. A superstar that has fought all over the globe is now taking his death-defying skill to the X Division. Hype for the Triple Threat.
    D-

    Samoa Joe vs. Steve Williams
Crowd Reaction: Not Much In The Way Of Heat
    In-Ring Action: Solid
"Dr. Death" Steve Williams was poached from MLW where he was their World Champion. Samoa Joe defeated Williams in 7:25 by submission with the Coquina Clutch.
    E+

    Segment: Flirting
Velvet Sky flirted with Juvy, telling him that if he wins the upcoming match, she'll do that thing he likes. Juvy: Will you do it in my old mask?
    D+

    Segment: Promo
Ron Killings hyped himself up in gorilla position, telling the folks at home that he's had a hell of a year in 2003. 2004 gonna get wilder.
    C-

Juventud Guerrera vs. Ultimo Dragon vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings (c)
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Good
Ron Killings defeated Dragon and Juice in 10:06 when he pinned Juvy after a Consequences Cutter. This is defense #2 of his X Division title.
    D

    Segment: Cage Dancing
Rena Mero! The GM of iMpact decided to surprise the young men (and maybe a few women) with a bit of a PG-13 striptease. In two years she'll have married a guy that spends as much time getting checked for doping in UFC as he did in a WWE ring.
    C+

    Segment: Interview
Scott Hall is interviewed by Percy Pringle, who is talking out of the wrong end of his mic. Hall went along with it, telling the cameras that yes, even without the Legends Championship he is the biggest icon in the industry. He was part of the biggest revolution in pro wrestling history. He had all-time classics in places he's not allowed to say on TV. Hall has earned this opportunity just by signing. Curt Hennig is more of a fossil than a future HOFer at this point. Hall called him a relic, a monument to a time fans have already forgotten about. Hall is still in, and will take that gold and hold it above every challenger's head when all is said and done. With a sort of maddening fury, he took the microphone from Pringle's hand (the stick still face up), and told the camera that he can't be denied what's his now. TNA is his gun to fire, and his finger is on the trigger - the muzzle is against Hennig's skull. Bang.
    D+

Scott Hall vs. Curt Hennig (c)
    Crowd Reaction: Great
    In-Ring: Decent
Curt Hennig...defeated Scott Hall in 8:24 by pinfall with a roll up. Hennig wins the TNA Legends Championship title.
    D-

    Segment: Product Shilling
Little Nattie and Angelina Love were there to tell you the healing powers of TNA. Nattie is dressed like a sexy angel and Angelina is an imp. I don't think anyone is looking at the DVDs and tees on sale.
    C-

The Badstreet Boyz vs. The James Gang vs. America's Most Wanted (c)
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
The James Gang defeated Badstreet and AMW in 12:59, Kip James pinned Christian York after a Fame Asser. AMW were furious. James Gang are now the TNA World Tag Team Champions.
    D+

    Segment: Joining
James Gang stumbled through the curtains. Mickie James is there and asked if she could be a part of the group because "it only makes sense, James and all". BG wasn't too sure, but Kip was ecstatic, riding a clear wave of emotion. BG gave in and asked her to accompany them to the ring next week. She was all grins as she hugged them and celebrated with the new tag team champs.
    C-

    Konnan vs. Goldberg
    Crowd Reaction: Great
    In-Ring Action: Good
Goldberg defeated Konnan in 7:09 by pinfall with The Jackhammer.
    D

    Segment: Post-Match
Raven ran to the ring to check on his friend. K-Dogg pushed him off, clearly upset with everything. Raven coaxed him back to his feet, assuring him it'll be okay. Then he planted Konnan with a Raven Effect. The hardcore superstar smiled, searched underneath the ring, and found a baseball bat. He chucked it at Konnan and told him audibly "Do the math!".
    D+

    Segment: Video
Clips of AJ Styles winning the inaugural King of The Road Battle Royal; his championship win against Raven at Bound For Glory moments later. Clips of Jarrett defending up until Raven, and then his win against Styles where he regained the title. The video cut to the last few episode of iMpact, hyping up the two men as they use their finishers on each other, even stealing them outright. Something's gotta give. TNA Final Resolution.
    C+

AJ Styles vs. Jeff Jarrett (c) in a Six Sides of Steel Cage Match
    Crowd Reaction: Great
    In-Ring Action: Good
Jeff Jarrett defeated AJ Styles in the Cage Match in 18:22 when Jarrett escaped the cage. Both men were atop the cage, hanging by a thread as Styles attempted Jarrett's Figure-Four Leglock. Jarrett slipped out, falling out of the structure. As if by design, Security quickly flooded the arena to help The Owner up and to keep anyone from getting to him. Fans threw trash at him. Defense #1 of Jarrett's TNA World Championship.
    C-

    Notes:
    • Kid Kash was really off his game tonight.
    • Abyss and Raven have Great chemistry, and it showed in their performances.
    • Jeff Jarrett worked the crowd well in his segment.
    • Steve Williams has debuted his Legitimate Athlete gimmick. It got a B+.
    • Scott Hall did superb work not following the script, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

    • Percy Pringle improvised well during his segment as an interviewer.
    • BG James struggled when going off-script.

Rena said to lay off the in-fighting, it was bad enough they had to cut Konnan from the pack. The hardcore icon requested a championship match again. • Jarrett struggled while going off-script.
    • BG James improvised while in his segment.
    • Kip James clearly enjoyed the freedom to go off script, and it showed.
    • Killings did a masterful job improvising his promo.
    • Rena Mero did good work being at ringside.
    • The Warlord Storyline has concluded.

    Goings On

I gave him a Last Chance. Sorta worried about his negative influence in the Locker Room. Ironic he no showed for TNA.

It's like art imitates life in TNA. I Fined him. He doesn't have a negative influence like Hall does, and he's a Road Agent so he doesn't get screentime. Still, this may be a problem down the road. Starting to worry about Joey Matthews too.

I don't wanna take TNA down an aging path, but Macho Man is a steal no matter if he can go or not. I am in contract negotiations with him.

Well that's just jabroni talk is what that is.

I released Steve Williams from his contract. Dude had decent stats but his age was a significant factor to his overall work. Thought I could give a few a rub from him but the matches just aren't good enough to improve their popularity. Next episode is his last match with TNA.

    January: $28,106 PROFIT

    TNA iMpact

    Opening: Authority
Cameras panned on a standing Rena Mero, who leaned against her office table. She addressed the iMpact faithful about a few changes happening behind-the-scenes. For starters, the Knockouts Championship is being implemented as soon as Against All Odds, the next pay per view. She hasn't decided on who will be in the running for it, but felt Amy Dumas has done nothing to deserve contendership. Met with boos from the live audience, she continued. After some discussion last week, Rena felt it was only fair to give a special friend of hers some new responsibilities on Impact. The cameras moved over to reveal Hall near the doorway. Scott Hall grinned, and told the fans he would help run things for a while.

    Segment: Authority, Continued
As the newly appointed Authority Figure, Scott Hall made it clear Goldberg would be competing tonight. Against Jarrett and Raven. He waited a few moments to finish, telling the crowd he wasn't a bad guy. It would be a tag team match, and the man that would be in Goldberg's corner? Konnan, the man he recently beat at Final Resolution. The same man that thought he was responsible for jumping him weeks before. With enemies in every corner, Hall expected bloodshed.
    C-

    Ultimo Dragon vs. Low Ki
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action Solid
Ultimo Dragon defeated Low Ki in 12:58 by pinfall after the Asai DDT.

    Segment: Cage Dancing
Angelina Love scantily clad in hearts that I swear were made of construction paper. Her routine was cut short by-
    D+

    Segment: Catfight
Amy Dumas took offense to Melissa's own dancing last week (Melissa impersonated Dumas), hunting her down and throwing her against stage equipment. It's a brawl as the cheerleader clawed back, ripping Amy's shirt, revealing a bra that, honestly, is the same exact size of her shirt but the crowd went wild anyways. Angelina Love barely made it out of the cage before Dumas slammed Melissa into its bars. She left a massive dent on its side.

America's Most Wanted vs. AJ Styles & Jerry Lynn
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Terrible
AMW defeated Styles & Lynn in 8:27 when James Storm defeated Lynn by pinfall. Later there was a scuffle about how Jerry's foot was underneath the rope. The teams argue.
    E+

    Segment: Tag Team Interview
Todd Pettengill with Raven and Jarrett, who were giddy to see Hall call the shots. For a month The World Champion has heard the buzz from the live audience on how Jeff feared Goldberg's spear, that him losing was "a foregone conclusion". Jarrett didn't break AJ's spirit just to lose to some flash in the pan like Goldberg. Raven also didn't kick Konnan out of their pack just for him to lose and have company egg on his face. The hardcore icon knew what he was doing the moment his bat found K-Dogg's skull. Revolution? Corporate revolution is the new lifeblood of TNA. The Cause will meet whatever overrated opposition that comes their way.
    C-

    Segment: Call Out
TNA Legends Champion Curt Hennig got in the ring and made quick work on his reason - Scott Hall. He called him out, saying how now that Hall has the keys to the kingdom, he wondered who would be his next opponent for Against All Odds. Curt was curious to see what the growing collective in the back had for him though, so tonight he would put the title on the line against anyone - whether or not they were a mid-30s veteran or not..
    D+

    ??? vs. Curt Hennig (c)
    Crowd Reaction: Average
    In-Ring Action: Decent
It's Elix Skipper, which earned Curt a confused look. Hennig defeated Skipper in 6:44 with a Perfect-Plex. Defense #1 of his Legends Championship.
    D-

    Segment: Outside Of TNA
Ron Killings is on the set of Break It Two: Graveyard Shift. He sat in the Director's chair and talked a bit about the movie, which he will star in alongside Estelle Getty, who will reprise her role as the titillating seducer Vera Auld. Truth has been watching Low Ki and Ultimo Dragon lately, and thought that since they're 1-1, he'll be more than happy to face whoever wins next week on Impact.
    D

    Segment: Promotional Video
Mickie James sported new James Gang apparell. They do not have merchandise. She was a pixelated mess.
    C-

    Segment: Walking
Goldberg did his signature entrance, complete with TNA Security escorting him to the ring.
    B-

Main Event: Goldberg and Konnan vs. Jeff Jarrett and Raven
    Crowd Reaction: Great
    In-Ring Action: Good
Goldberg and Konnan defeated Jarrett and Raven in 9:38 when Jarrett disqualified himself, slamming a guitar over Goldberg's head. He stood over the writhing adversary, World title proudly displayed above his head, as the show came to an end.
    D+

    Notes:
    • Steve Williams was visibly tiring toward the end of his match.
    • Scott Hall improvised well throughout his segment.
    • I made a mistake setting the AMW vs. AJ & Lynn fight as "Call In The Ring", thinking everyone would be fine. Only Jerry Lynn was good at that. Rookie mistake.
    • Raven worked the crowd well.
    • Todd Pettengill clearly enjoyed the freedom of being off-script.
    • Todd Pettengill looked dreadful in his segment.
    • Curt Hennig clearly enjoyed his freedom to say whatever he had in mind, too.
    • Ron Killings improvised well. He's getting a lot better on the mic.
