Stephanie's "big announcement" at the beginning of Raw last night was to declare that both the Raw and SmackDown Women's Championships would be on the line in this match.

It sucks that Asuka is relegated to the women's battle royal and that her first title run on the main roster during the home stretch of WrestleMania season was treated as barely an afterthought, she's just not the "traditionally" charismatic star that Vince prefers who happened to be in the wrong place during the wrong time.

With that being said, I'm at least really glad they went in this direction as it, at least, provides a reason for Charlotte winning the SmackDown Women's Championship so soon before WrestleMania and returns a sense of urgency to her placement in the match. After all, "winner takes all", being the first to hold the two main roster women's singles championships simultaneously is a great thing to brag about and it gives Charlotte something to lose as well. They can always come up with some reason to take one of the titles off the winner a bit later on down the line, or I'd be fine with them having one big women's division again; they have more than enough talent to support a primary singles and tag team championship, maybe even a secondary women's title.
