Earlier today, Uncle Dave's review his review of TakeOver: New York came out and ranked the matches as so:

NXT Tag Team Championship: The War Raiders vs. Aleister Black & Ricochet - 4.5 stars
NXT North American Championship: The Velveteen Dream vs. Matt Riddle - 4.5 stars
WWE United Kingdom Championship: Pete Dunne vs. WALTER - 4.75 stars
NXT Women's Championship: Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane vs. Io Shirai vs. Bianca Belair - 3.75 stars
NXT Championship: Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole - 5.5 stars

So basically, Uncle Dave has proclaimed from On High that Gargano vs. Cole is the overall greatest match in WWE history as it becomes the first WWE match to break his 5 star barrier, it's also the 12th match overall to do so and the first outside of a New Japan card.

When this match was going on, I honestly had a feeling Meltzer would award it in excess of 5 stars. Not that it wasn't a killer match, it definitely was, but it also had so many big moves hit and near falls that it was almost a parody and Meltzer LOVES to see that in matches.
