WWE Money In The Bank - Roman Reigns VS. Elias

As with Reigns' WrestleMania match, this match ultimately seems like an unnecessary formality. Upon Reigns' return, I was hoping WWE would go the route of portraying Reigns as vulnerable, maybe not as virile or dominant as he was before with the result being that he loses some matches while on a journey towards ultimately reclaiming his "yard." I should've known better, however, as WWE seems to be moving back towards business as usual with Reigns rather than do something interesting with him that sees him evolve.

I'm bored with Elias and have been for a long time. There are only so many ways you can show a guy playing a guitar in the ring every week before getting interrupted and beaten up almost every single time before it loses its appeal or, at least, you'd think so as there are quite a few fans who seem to enjoy what's been the most repetitive element of WWE television for well over a year. Pairing him up with the McMahon family only seems like an unnecessary excuse to feature Shane McMahon on WWE television more often than is needed.

I see this as being either a really short match or a match that is needlessly drawn out to be much longer than it should or needs to be. If it's the former, it'll be Reigns dominating Elias and getting the win inside of 3 to 5 minutes. If it's the latter, it may be due to a lot of outside interference and/or Reigns really holding back in order to accommodate a less capable guy in the ring so that said less capable guy can appear as a much bigger threat to him than anyone actually believes he is. The only way Elias walks out with a win is if he's given aid by Shane McMahon.

At least they haven't shoved Reigns immediately back into main event contention or into the MITB match. However, Reigns' eventual return to the WWE Championship picture is on its way, it's just a matter of time.

His first feud back since his feel good Mania win and already starting with the Roman is bad stuff. It's been literally two episodes on Smackdown, one post shakeup, and already its the same old drivel about Roman.

Kofi and Kevin Owens both need to look over their shoulders. Roman is coming.

Dude, the show kicked off with him getting his ass kicked by Shane and Elias. Roman of yesteryear would have speared them both and come back for seconds.

On paper, I'm not into the feud but the two segments from last night sold me. Roman was the silent bad ass he should be, got beat down by two heels like anyone would be, Elias had a motivation other than playing guitar, and Shane seems to be on some kind of uppers. Very good TV last nightm

Reigns isn't the focal point of the show, and he's letting his actions do most of his talking. Isn't that what people wanted? Sure he'll be back in the main event scene eventually (and he should be), but what's there to complain about now?

I'd be right there with you if he hadn't needlessly beaten Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. It's like putting a championship on someone and having them lose every match they're in except for when the title is on the line; in this case, Roman gets beaten up once or twice, maybe, before winning the actual match itself. it'd just be a lot more interesting if Reigns didn't rise to the occasion every single time which is, let's face it, what's going to happen.

Drew beating the guy that recently overcame cancer would not have been a good look for the company. And that didn't take long at all.

I'm pretty sure WWE doesn't care about how the company looks.
